Aix-en-Provence: Unlike the haute cuisine of Paris, charming Aix-en-Provence is alive with grocer's markets and the perfect place to try some rustic French food.
Barcelona: Share the fun and the food at the many fantastic tapas bars in the city. Other things to try are Catalan specialities, such as goose and wild mushrooms.
Florence: The wood-oven pizzas served in trattorias here are hard to beat. Complement your meal with a good drop of Tuscan wine.
Lucerne: Swiss specialities include fondue, raclette (table-top grill where diners heat potatoes, cheese and toppings in individual pans) and Rösti (grated potato patties).
Munich: This is the place for no-nonsense, hearty meals such as Schweinsbraten (roasted pig) and Bratwürstl (sausages). The beers here are also arguably the best in the world.
