  • Description: The calm of Anzac cove and the Lone Pine cemetery introduces this exploration into Turkey, where ancient ruins and Whirling Dervishes map your path towards Istanbul's Blue Mosque. It's Insider moments like… meeting Omer's family at Duruk House, their 200 year old home in Akseki, Turkey. Listening to their stories you'll hear why the people of Akseki have such a strong trading history, and find out about the Duruk business. As you explore your hands graze the timber and stone of the one metre-thick walls. And, over rich beef stew and homemade soup, you learn about the traditional building techniques that enable this family house, built without mortar, to be earthquake resistant.

On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

    • + Old Town With Yacht Cruise Antalya Old Town, 'Kaleici', is the picturesque old quarter in the centre of present day Antalya. With its narrow winding streets and historic wooden houses, bars, restaurants and Ottoman style buildings, it's a lovely place to visit. Your expert Local Guide will show you the imposing Hadrian's Gate, dating from 130 AD when the Roman Emperor visited the city. End the experience with a yacht cruise to the waterfall at Duden.

    • + HALF DAY BOSPHORUS CRUISE No stay should be completed without this traditional and unforgettable cruise by boat along the Bosphorus, the winding strait separating Europe and Asia. Along the shores is a delightful mixture of the modern hotels, ancient wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortress and small fishing villages.
