  • BOLZANO

    • + ALPINE EXPERIENCE We take a cable car and then travel by mountain railway, enjoying breathtaking views of the Dolomites; we stop and sample strudel and a drink. Our local guide will explain the details of the landscape and local history, and the unusual rock formations, known as the Rittner Earth Pyramids.

  • VENICE

    • + CANALS OF VENICE An unforgettable introduction to this unique and magical city! We cruise along the Grand Canal by private water taxi, admiring the magnificent and elegant palazzos. We see the Rialto Bridge and then reach 'the most beautiful outdoor drawing room in the world', St Mark's Square. Later during your Gondola Ride, you will glide along the picturesque smaller canals while a duo of musicians entertains.

    • + LAGOON CRUISE WITH LUNCH OR DINNER Take some time off the beaten track! We are taken by private boat to the nearby islands in the lagoon of Venice. See the island of Murano where the glass blowers live. Lunch or dinner is taken at the picturesque 'Island of the fishermen', Burano, famous for its multicoloured houses and a photographer's paradise. Drinks are also included.

    • + MAJESTIC VENICE Explore hidden parts of the maze of streets which make up this unique city. Your local guide will give you fascinating insights into Venice's past and present, through the eyes of a local. A visit to the majestic basilica of St Mark reveals some of its treasures. Behind closed doors we will view some of the prized trophies looted by the Venetians in their rise to power, or alternatively we will visit the outside terrace for exceptional vistas of this remarkable city on water.

  • AMALFI

    • + CAPRI HIGHLIGHTS Amazing views are in store as we tour the famous 'jet-set' island of Capri. Our excursion includes a cruise around the island to view the famous Faraglioni rocks, and a visit to the villa of Swedish author Axel Munthe, whose gardens are rated amongst the finest in Europe. Private mini buses take us to Anacapri (top of the island), a photographer's dream. (In the event of bad weather a light lunch in a local restaurant will replace the cruise.)

  • SORRENTO

    • + DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT A variety of Neapolitan specialities will be served in this family run restaurant, with wine, local live entertainment and a demonstration of the famous Tarantella dance.

    • + POSITANO AND THE AMALFI DRIVE Using private mini-buses, we drive along the famous Amalfi Coast in order to visit the exclusive artists' paradise of Positano, magnificently positioned on the Mediterranean coast.

    • + TRADITIONAL NEAPOLITAN EVENING Our beautiful drive takes us into the Sorrentino countryside to arrive at an 18th century Olive Oil mill where we enjoy a guided visit of the gardens, the mill and an ancient wine cellar. We will be served a simple meal including the famous Pizza and wine. Throughout the evening, there will be a demonstration of how Mozzarella cheese and pizza are made.

  • FLORENCE

    • + FLORENTINE DINNER WITH ENTERTAINMENT Sample the flavours of medieval Florence, during an evening of good food and music at a distinctive historic venue. (Subject to availability).

    • + JEWELS OF THE RENAISSANCE A guided tour of the Accademia allows us to appreciate the most famous and beautiful sculpture in Italy, Michelangelo's David, the symbol of Renaissance Man. Nothing can match the experience of meeting this masterpiece in person.

    • + LUNCH OR DINNER WINE AND MUSIC IN THE TUSCAN HILLS Take a scenic drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside to a delightful regional restaurant set among the pines and cypress trees. Here a feast of gastronomic specialities awaits, accompanied by song and music.

    • + VISIT TO SAN GIMIGNANO We drive to the nearby hilltop town of San Gimignano, the 'medieval Manhattan' of Tuscany. Surrounded by fields of sunflowers, vineyards and olive groves, this is Italy's best preserved medieval city and will give you an excellent idea of daily life in Italy during the Middle Ages.

  • CORTINA

    • + GRAND TOUR OF THE DOLOMITES With an alpine guide, we enjoy a half day excursion through the Dolomites - the most spectacular part of the Alps. Photo stops enable you to capture the unique rock formations, and superb panoramas. We will also visit an authentic WWI fort, and take a cable car ride to a nearby summit for breathtaking 360 degree vistas. Included is a slice of the local strudel and a drink. (NB. Certain early season departures will visit a 'Malga' or local mountain farm house, instead of taking the cable car ride. Euro 49)

  • SANTA MARGHERITA

    • + ITALIAN RIVIERA THE CINQUETERRE PORTOVENERE AND MONTEROSSO Today we drive to the most romantic spot on the Italian Riviera - the Bay of Poets, where Byron and Shelley spent much of their Italian sojourn. We take a ferry to Monterosso, and admire the almost inaccessible 'Cinqueterre' as we sail past. These five villages, which we will see quite clearly, are built on a promontory, for years only accessible by donkey and hence little changed over the centuries. Even today, the villages retain their charm and their reputation for producing one of Italy's most sought-after and exclusive wines!

  • ROME

    • + MAGNIFICENT ROME Cameras at the ready for the magnificent sights awaiting us. With our local guide we will discover the many delights that Rome has to offer. These can only be truly appreciated by wandering slowly through the labyrinth of narrow streets and beautiful squares which have developed over more than 2000 years, creating an amazing legacy for us today. The Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain are just two of the fine monuments en route. Later you will have free time to eat at the Trattoria of your choice in one of the piazzas.

    • + ROMAN EVENING WITH DINNER A light hearted evening in Rome. We will relax and enjoy a typical Italian meal (drinks included), while live musicians entertain us. To complete our evening, we will drive along the Via Veneto, a location made famous by the film 'La Dolce Vita' and see how the Romans enjoy their city. A wonderful end to our day.

    • + TIVOLI AND GARDENS OF THE VILLA D ESTE An excursion to the ancient Sabine town of Tivoli situated a few miles outside Rome to enjoy the gardens and fountains of the Villa D'Este. You will visit its grottos and pavilions, the Avenue of a Hundred Fountains, and the Dragon Fountain of the Organ.

  • MILAN

    • + TREASURES OF MILAN With a local city guide we visit some of this bustling city's most famous sights. First we enter the impressive Castello Sforza - today one of the country's most important museums, where we see the 'Pieta of Rondanini' by Michelangelo among other great works. Then we continue to the world renowned 'La Scala' opera house and museum. (Should either La Scala or the Castello be unavailable, there will be a visit to the remarkable Museum of Milan.)
