Trafalgar & The National Trust Trafalgar and The TreadRight Foundation continue to support the National Trust in the UK – an independent charity that works to protect and preserve historic houses, gardens, monuments and ancient ruins. To date, we’ve supported: The build of a state-of-the-art visitor centre at the Giant's Causeway, a UNESCO Heritage site in Northern Ireland. The safeguarding of the iconic White Cliffs of Dover – one of several National Trust sites to feature on our itineraries. The preservation of the 18th-century Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, England. The conservation of Quarry Bank Mill is the latest National Trust project we’ve contributed towards. Quarry Bank Mill is considered one of the most important mills in the world. Despite The Trust owning the site since 1939, key aspects of the property were in private ownership until 2006 and 2012, preventing them from telling the complete story. The National Trust is fundraising to develop the whole site and to open it to the public, helping visitors to understand what it would have been like to live during the industrial revolution.
