Please note: Some parts of Costa Rica, especially in remote areas such as inside Tortuguero National Park and Sarapiqui, are still off the beaten path. Hotel facilities, while the best available, may be limited, such as the Laguna Lodge in Tortuguero and Sarapiqui Rainforest Lodge with comfortable but simple guestrooms with ensuite bathrooms, ceiling fans instead of air-conditioning, and without phone or TV. Meal choices may be limited and not as extensive as on other Trafalgar guided holidays. This program requires walking on uneven surfaces and steps and through heavy rainfalls (umbrellas provided). This journey is best enjoyed by the experienced traveller in good health and who can take such conditions in stride.
