Made from blueberries, strawberries, cranberries or blackcurrants, the fruit in the Rodrigues wines comes from Newfoundland's pure soil, air and water. As well as the tastes of Canada, the history and forefathers are brought to life at the Beothuk Interpretation Centre, where you explore the exhibits and discover more about a civilisation which has long-since vanished, leaving behind faint outlines of its past in this dramatic coastal setting.

    ST. JOHN'S SIGHTSEEING

Although it was incorporated in 1921, some consider St. John's to be the oldest English-founded city in North America. A Local Expert shares the story of Signal Hill, where Marconi's first transatlantic wireless signal was recorded. Enjoy a lighthouse picnic lunch for a treasured memory before setting out on a boat tour across Witless Bay Ecological Reserve to spot whales and seabird colonies inhabiting the area (in season). Head back to the hotel for an evening on your own.
