  • Description: This diminutive country has a surprising fund of castles, cities and culture, all sewn into a patchwork of brooding highlands and undisturbed islands, like Orkney, Skye and Mull. It's Insider moments like… taking a walk through Edinburgh Castle with a local character, no doubt dressed in the obligatory tartan. You'll go behind the castle's much-seen scenes, substituting the obvious for the obscure on this one-of-a-kind walk. Just the start of your castle encounters, Dunrobin, Eilean Donan, Glamis and Stirling castles appear on the horizon as you travel from highlands to lochs and along the Whisky Trail, dipping into a history of smugglers, Scottish kings and scotch – and into Glenlivet for a tasting.
