Grand Alpine Experience - 2014

5 out of 5 stars

15 days

"Most amazing holiday I ever had"

The Alps may bring France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Germany together in geography and scenery – but this trip shows their customs, food, culture and local characters remain unique. It's Insider moments like… being welcomed into the Heis family's charming farm and guesthouse in the mountains outside Innsbruck. Magdalene, or one of her five children, takes you to meet the family and their horses, pigs, cows and chickens, while her husband, Andre, is taking the helm in his kitchen. Heading into the cosy wood-clad dining area or beautiful conservatory with its Alpine views, Andre presents his organic feast created from the farm's own produce – from Tyrolean 'Schutzkrapfen' ravioli to roasted veal.
