Destination guide: Bordeaux
World renowned wines and cuisine come to mind first, but Bordeaux offers much more. Wide avenues lead you to stunning 18th century buildings dotting the Garonne riverfront, beaches are temptingly close by and the museums are utterly captivating.
The old city centre is the true gem of Bordeaux, where cobbled streets meander past brassieres and chatter-filled cafés. Treat yourself to delectable “bouchons” or a stroll to the waterfront via the Esplanade des Quinconces, then for a taste of experimental art from the 1960’s, journey north to the Musée d’Art Contemporain.
