From the sound of Mozart to 'The Sound Of Music', Salzburg strikes the perfect note with music lovers. You can visit Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthplace, drink Mozart liqueur and eat Mozart chocolates, and every summer the star-studded Salzburg Festival celebrates the city’s most famous son. You can wander over the Monchsberg and Nonnberg hills where parts of 'The Sound Of Music' were filmed, and visit the abbey where Julie Andrews sang and danced as Fraülein Maria.

Even if music leaves you flat, there’s still plenty to love in this historic town. It’s small enough to be walkable from end to end, and surrounded by the beautiful foothills of the Alps.
