What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an easy way to keep updated with the latest news, articles and features of your favourite websites. Instead of having to navigate to a website to check for new content, an RSS feed will automatically notify you when new information has been added to the site.

Subscribing to an RSS feed (also known as a news feed), allows you to receive the most recent information from your chosen websites (including news, photographs, audio and video files) in one place - your News Reader.

How do I use RSS feeds?

To begin using RSS, you will need a program known as a News Reader or a webpage that supports RSS such as Bloglines and My Yahoo. If you don’t already have a news reader installed, most new versions are freely available online and are easily accessible.

Downloadable RSS readers:
Awasu (Windows)
Newz Crawler (Windows)
Newsfire (Mac OS X)

Web-based RSS readers:
My Yahoo
NewsGator
Bloglines
Google

Once you have chosen your News Reader, you simply need to decide on what information you wish to receive, then find and subscribe to the applicable RSS feeds.

Trafalgar Tours publishes several RSS feeds and Podcasts (audio and video RSS feeds).
