    Welcome to Madrid, the capital of Spain! Relax or take a stroll along tree-lined boulevards. This evening, meet for a Welcome Reception with your travelling companions and Travel Director. Enjoy an orientation drive this evening – the perfect introduction to this magical city!

    MADRID - TOLEDO - BAEZA - CORDOBA

    Your Local Guide takes you on a walking tour of Toledo. Visit the Church of Santo Tomé, home to one of El Greco’s most famous paintings – The Burial of Count Orgaz. Visit the Synagogue during your guided walk through the narrow streets. Travel to Baeza and visit the olive oil museum. See the different varieties of olive, discover the different production methods used through the ages, and sample this Local Speciality during your olive oil tasting.Admire the breath-taking landscape during your drive south, through the heart of Andalusia, to Cordoba. Dine tonight at your hotel.

    CORDOBA - GRANADA

    Accompanied by your Local Guide, visit the Cathedral-Mosque of Cordoba, the former Mosque of the Caliphs, a jewel of Hispano-Islamic art featuring striking arches and Byzantine mosaics. Visit the remains of the 14th century mudejar-style synagogue. After a drive in the shadow of the dramatic Sierra Nevada Mountains, you arrive in Granada. This evening – enjoy a Highlight Dinner with wine.

    GRANADA - COSTA DEL SOL (TORREMOLINOS) (2 NIGHTS)

    Your Local Guide takes you on a visit to the incredible Alhambra Palace, built in the 14th century and a magnificent example of Moorish architecture. Admire the ancient filigree, quiet courtyards and colossal walls. In the afternoon, arrive on the famous Costa del Sol. You might take an excursion to visit the pretty hilltop village of Mijas for a typical Mediterranean dinner.

    Spend the day as you wish. Consider strolling along miles of perfect sandy beaches, or you might like to go shopping. If you’re feeling adventurous, join a day excursion to Malaga!

  • Day 6

    COSTA DEL SOL - GIBRALTAR* - SEVILLE (2 NIGHTS)

    A scenic drive takes you past the millionaire’s resort of Marbella and on to La Linea. Cross to the Rock of Gibraltar, for free time to explore. Consider joining an excursion to St. Michael’s Cave to see the Barbary Macaques (Rock Apes). This afternoon, continue through the Andalusian countryside around Jerez – famous for wine production – to Seville. Join your travelling companions this evening for a Be My Guest dinner at an Andalusian family run Olive Oil Mill.

    SEVILLE SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME

    See the Giralda Bell Tower with your Local Guide during your sightseeing tour of Seville. Visit the Maria Luisa Park, the piece of the 1929 World’s Fair, built in a Moorish style and featuring half a mile of fountains, ponds, pavilions and lush plantings and walk through the imposing Plaza de España. Visit the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, where the explorer Christopher Columbus is entombed. Tonight you might like to experience a fiery Flamenco show!

  • Day 8

    SEVILLE - LISBON SIGHTSEEING (2 NIGHTS)

    Cross the beautiful province of Huelva, famous for Jabugo ham and copper mines. Pass the castles of Extremadura and cross the Portuguese border to Lisbon, enjoying interesting scenery along the way. See Lisbon’s landmarks, including the Monument to the Discoveries, the suspension bridge spanning the River Tagus, the Belém Tower and the quaint Alfama district. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Hieronymite Monastery during your sightseeing tour with your Local Guide.

    LISBON - FATIMA - SALAMANCA

    A scenic drive north through the magnificent Serra d’Aire Mountains brings you to the Shrine at Fatima, site of celebrated religious miracles. Cross the border back into Spain and arrive later in Salamanca where you view Plaza Mayor during your orientation tour. Your Travel Director will also take you to see the unusual Casa de las Conchas. Dine tonight at your hotel.

    MADRID SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME

    Visit the Prado Museum with your Local Guide, featuring the largest collection of European art in the world, most notably the works of Velazquez. See the Royal Palace, official residence of the King of Spain. View the Puerta del Sol and the Cervantes Memorial in the Plaza de España. On the elegant Paseo del Prado, see the impressive Cibeles Fountain. In your free time this afternoon, consider joining an optional trip to Segovia, where you can see the Roman aqueduct and medieval palaces and castles. Tonight, join your companions and your Travel Director for a Farewell Dinner with wine in a local restaurant.

    DEPART MADRID
