Enjoy fascinating sightseeing as you delve deep into Easter Island’s history and culture, visit Ahus Vaihu and Rono Raruku to see a quarry of 900 stone statues and experience the traditions of the island's inhabitants on this four day post-itinerary tour.

    • Day 1


      Fly to Easter Island, the cradle of an enigmatic culture that persists to this day. The language, music and many traditions remain alive amongst the island's inhabitants, while the enormous carved stone moai tell of a more remote past. After checking in at your seaside hotel (check in is at 3 p.m.), enjoy the rest of the day on your own. Take a swim in the pool, stroll into town or just relax and enjoy the island breezes.

    • Day 2


      Visit the fallen monolithic statues, Ahus Vaihu in the bay of Hanga Te'e, and Akahanga, where supposedly the famous king Hotu Matua was buried. Proceed to Rano Raraku, quarry of almost 900 stone statues, 397 of them still lying or standing at the slopes of the extinct volcano with crater lake. Then visit Ahu Tongariki, the most recent and largest restoration on the island. Visit Ahu Te Pito Kura and the "Navel of the World". Finally, visit the beach of Anakena with its restored Ahus Nau Nau and Ature Huke. There you will have the opportunity to enjoy the warm Pacific Ocean.

    • Day 3


      Delve deeper into Easter Island's singular history and culture today as your expert guide takes you to explore Rano Kau, an extinct volcano with stunning views of the island, and the village of Orongo, the ceremonial centre of the mysterious Birdman cult. View the altars, quarry and some of the 480 cave paintings related to this fascinating cult. Drive to restored Ahu Akivi with seven Moais, built in the middle of the island. Visit the topknot-quarry Puna Pau with its red scoria stone, where all the Pukaos were made.

      Enjoy some free time this morning before transferring to the airport for your onward flight arrangements (not included in holiday price).
