  • Duration: 13 Days
  • Rating: Read Reviews
  • Brochure: Europe & Britain 2014
  • Style: Regional
  • Description: Into the very heart of Europe, this trip takes in scenic Switzerland and Austria, but also sneaks you into miniature Liechtenstein and over the border into the northern fringes of Italy. It's Insider moments like… getting an insight into one of Austria's oldest traditions, as you watch the balletic horses of the Lipizzaner Stud Farm in their alpine pastures. Dating back 400 years, you hear how the farm is protecting the country's cultural heritage and protecting this world-famous breed – which is, surprisingly, an endangered species. More than an insight into these noble baroque horses, it unveils Austria's love of culture and refined social scene – which you also witness in Vienna's elegant cafés.
