On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

    • + CARDIFF CASTLE TOUR Visit this unique castle given to the city of Cardiff by the Marquis of Bute. The ornate decor within the castle will surprise and delight you.

    • + SIGHTSEEING WITH A LOCAL GUIDE Take a professionally guided tour of Liverpool. From its glorious maritime past, to its world beating cultural present, via the two magnificently different cathedrals, see Mathew Street, birthplace of the The Beatles and the Mersey Sound. A memorable and entertaining experience.

  • WINDERMERE

    • + WINDERMERE CRUISE AND STEAM TRAIN RIDE A chance to view the glorious scenery of the lake district as we cruise across England's largest lake. Then step back in time as we board the steam train for a short journey from Lakeside to Haverthwaite.

    • + PRIVATE CRUISE ON LAKE WINDERMERE Enjoy an exclusive cruise on a private boat on England's most beautiful lake taking in the northern coastline, many beautiful houses and gardens and Wray Castle. We also see deserted islands, boats, birdlife and have a chance to breath in the local air and appreciate the area so loved by Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth. A photographers' paradise.

  • EDINBURGH

    • + DINNER EVENING Join your traveling companions for dinner in an exciting local restaurant. A drink is included.

    • + SCOTTISH SHOW WITH DINNER Tonight is a chance to put on that tartan and join us for an evening of singing, dancing and bagpipe playing at an Internationally famous venue. There is food, wine and a great atmosphere. Join in with the singing, we'll show you a Highland dance or two and there's a chance to sample Scotland's national dish - haggis. It's a grand night and a wonderful way to celebrate an evening in Edinburgh.

    • + ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA This magnificent ship has played host to some of the most famous people in the world. But, above all, Britannia was home to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family. For four royal couples, Britannia was to provide a honeymoon sanctuary before the onset of married life in the world's most photographed family. Now berthed in Leith, you are welcomed on board to discover the heart and soul of this most special of royal residences.

  • LEEDS

    • + DINNER EVENING Enjoy dinner and a drink at a local restaurant with your travelling companions.

  • WARWICK

    • + WARWICK CASTLE This excursion allows you to explore the 'jewel in the crown' of England's great medieval castles. You will visit the magnificent State Apartments, be amazed by the incredibly life-like Madame Tussauds wax-works as you explore the 'Kingmaker Exhibition' and 'Royal Weekend House Party'; and (if you're feeling adventurous) climb Guy's and Caesar's Towers for panoramic views out over the Warwickshire countryside before descending into the grim Gaol with it's 'oubliette'. You may even get to see the firing of the greatest of all medieval siege weapons, the Trebuchet. (NB. 'The Castle Dungeon' is a separate experience, at an additional fee, and is not included).

  • KILLARNEY

    • + JAUNTING CAR RIDE Take a traditional pony and trap ride through the streets of and into the beautiful Bourne - Vincent National Park. Your 'Jarvey' will tell you stories about Ireland - remember he has probably kissed the Blarney Stone once or twice!

  • LIMERICK

    • + BUNRATTY CASTLE AND FOLK PARK Visit the 15th century Castle with its fine furnishings, antiques and paintings. Bunratty was built by the MacNamaras and became the main stronghold of the powerful O'Brien clan. Experience the Ireland of yesteryear as you wander through the folk park with its thatched cottages and smoky turf fires - a way of life that has all but gone now. In the village street there are shops, a school and a bakery - maybe treat yourself to some of the freshly baked cakes in the village tea room.

    • + IRISH CEILIDH EVENING Enjoy the great atmosphere or 'craic' at our ceilidh evening. Traditional Irish music and dancing and the chance to sing along to some familiar Irish melodies. Dinner is included on this fun evening.

  • DUBLIN

    • + DUBLIN DINNER Join us for dinner in one of Dublin's pub/restaurants.

    • + GLENDALOUGH THE GLEN OF THE TWO LAKES This is one of the most important monastic sites in Europe dating back to the 7th century. This sacred site is famous for its tranquil beauty - set amidst the rolling countryside of County Wicklow, the garden of Ireland. Your local guide will enthrall you with tales of this beautiful place.

    • + DINNER AND CABARET Over an excellent dinner you'll enjoy a non-stop show featuring comedy, dance, song, music and fine food. Ireland's musical history unfolds in a cabaret that will delight you long after the night has ended. The cast will have you tapping your toes and joining in the fun, and it's all wrapped up in the spirit of Irish humour. We will even serve you an Irish Coffee at the end of dinner, it will put you in the mood for Ireland's best night out.
