On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.


A reduction of 25% of the cost of the Optional Excursions is offered to all children under the age of 16 years at the time of travel. Please Note: This discount to does not apply to North America optionals, as they are already discounted.

  • BUENOS AIRES

    • + FULL DAY FIEST GUACHA SANTA SUSANA WITH BBQ LUNCH Drive out to Los Cardales and the Estancia Santa Susana, where the Gauchos welcome you with a drink. Visit the Estancia and learn about the daily life of the cultural symbols of Argentina. Savor a rustic barbecue or “asado” lunch, with a variety of meats and sausages. Afterward, enjoy a folkloric show. Length: 7 hours (Min. 10 paxs)

    • + FULL-DAY COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO W LUNCH With a history of over 300 years, this town was declared a Historic Heritage of Humanity site by UNESCO. On a city tour, pass cobblestone streets and admire the charming houses. Transfers to Colonia are by ferry or hydrofoil. Length: 10.5 hours (min. 2 paxs)

    • + HALF-DAY TIGRE TOUR Drive through the northern district and outskirts of the city to get to Tigre, a charming resort where “portenos” (locals) spend their weekends. Enjoy a boat excursion along the channels of the Paraná-Delta. Length: 4.5 hours (Min. 10 paxs)

    • + TANGO LESSONS AT MANSION DANDI ROYAL Located at San Telmo, the Tango’s birthplace, Mansion Dandi Royal is a unique art nouveaux residence decorated with murals portraying Tango scenes and original objects d’art. Take a group lesson. Length: 1.5 hours (Min. 5 paxs)

  • SANTIAGO

    • + FULL-DAY EXCURSION TO VISIT VALPARISO AND VINA DEL MAR In Valparaiso, pass the main square and monument honoring the Naval Battle of 1879. Continue driving through the city and up a hillside for a spectacular view of the bay. On to the resort city of Viña del Mar. At Concón Beach, admire the fish stands with variety of seafood. Visit the main square, Plaza Vergara, and the shopping streets. Length: 10 hours (Min. 5 paxs)

  • RIO DE JANERIO

    • + GUANABARA BAY Two-hour schooner cruise along the coastline of Rio de Janeiro, passing by Flamengo, Botafogo and Urca Beaches, with views of Sugarloaf Mountain. Length: 3 hours (Min 8 pax)

    • + HALF-DAY TOUR TO PETROPOLIS Enjoy a scenic drive up the Serra dos Orgaos Range and through the lush vegetation of the Atlantic Rainforest. See the Summer Palace, the Cathedral, the Crystal Palace and the charming city square. (No lunch.) Length: 6 hours. (Min. 2 paxs)

  • BARILOCHE

    • + WALKING TOUR Walk along the Civic Center constructed with cypress wood, alerce and toba stones. At the plaza, see City hall, Police Department, Museum and Library and ex Post Office. Visit the Cathedral, dated from 1946 and designed by the Architect Bustillo, same architect who constructed the most beautiful resort in the area: the Llao Llao Resort. Then you head to Mitre street, the main street of Bariloche with many shops and cafés. Length: Varies (Min. 2 pax)
