DAY 1: SATURDAY 20TH DECEMBER

ARRIVE IN PARIS (2 Nights)

Welcome to Paris. Relax after your journey or take a wander through the streets of Paris. Tonight, meet for a Welcome Reception with your fellow travellers and Travel Director then take an orientation drive through the city.

DAY 2: SUNDAY 21ST DECEMBER

PARIS SIGHTSEEING

Admire panoramic views of the city from the second level of the Eiffel Tower. Drive along the Champs Élysées to the Arc de Triomphe on your sightseeing tour with a Local Expert. Discover the delights of the city on your own this afternoon. This evening consider a night at the most famous cabaret in the world.

DAY 3: MONDAY 22ND DECEMBER

PARIS & REIMS

Follow the Marne Valley eastwards to Reims, explore the delightful Christmas markets before an included visit to one of the great Champagne houses where you will discover the secrets of Champagne production.

DAY 4: TUESDAY 23RD DECEMBER

REIMS & STRASBOURG

This morning visit Verdun, site of a heroic stand by the French in the First World War before continuing to Strasbourg. Admire the Gothic cathedral and wander the cobblestoned streets while taking in the most famous Christmas markets in France which were founded in 1570. Take the opportunity to enjoy some of the delicious food on offer for dinner.

DAY 5: WEDNESDAY 24TH DECEMBER

STRASBOURG & ST. MORITZ (3 Nights)

Cross the border into Switzerland where the alpine scenery is simply breathtaking, and travel to the original ski resort - St. Moritz. This evening, enjoy a unique experience as you join the locals on a ‘Christmas Celebration in the Forest,’ where you walk through the forest which is illuminated by more than 1,500 candles, sing carols and enjoy a warming cup of ‘gluhwein’ before a special dinner in the hotel (subject to availability and weather conditions).

DAY 6: THURSDAY 25TH DECEMBER

CHRISTMAS DAY ST. MORITZ

Wake up this morning and look out the window at the spectacular scenery and understand the magic of a White Christmas. Have a festive Christmas Breakfast with Champagne, a leisurely day to relax by the open fire or play in the snow, and enjoy Christmas Lunch and a hearty Christmas Dinner..

DAY 7: FRIDAY 26TH DECEMBER

ST. MORITZ ALPINE ADVENTURE DAY

Today you have the choice of an included ‘ski pass’ for the famous Engadin St Moritz ski region [ski/equipment rental not included], or if skiing’s not for you, using an included ticket for the mountain railways and cable-cars to travel to the top of a mountain for great views.

DAY 8: SATURDAY 27TH DECEMBER

ST. MORITZ, VERONA & VENICE (2 Nights)

Travel south across the border into Italy, and stop in the fair city of Verona, the home of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers to view Juliet’s balcony. Arrive in Venice for a relaxed dinner at your hotel.

DAY 9: SUNDAY 28TH DECEMBER

VENICE SIGHTSEEING

Savour the unique sights of Venice as you cruise by private launch to St. Mark’s Square. See the Bridge of Sighs, Palladian Churches, Customs House, Grand Canal, St Mark’s Basilica and the ornate Doges’ Palace. See the sights on a gondola ride, and watch the Venetian craftsmen at work creating a Local Specialty at a glass-blowing workshop on Giudecca Island.

DAY 10: MONDAY 29TH DECEMBER

VENICE & FLORENCE (3 Nights)

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the first stop today, before you travel on to the city which is home to the Renaissance movement – Florence, for a three night stay.

DAY 11: TUESDAY 30TH DECEMBER

FLORENCE SIGHTSEEING WITH BE MY GUEST LUNCH

This morning, your Local Expert takes you on a walking tour to view the Duomo, Baptistery and Piazza della Signoria. Later, travel out of the city for a special Be My Guest lunch in a family-owned vineyard overlooking the rolling Chianti Hills.

DAY 12: WEDNESDAY 31ST DECEMBER

FLORENCE WITH SPECIAL NEW YEAR'S EVE DINNER

Enjoy a free day to further explore the city of Florence or join an included trip to the medieval town of San Gimignano, Italy’s best preserved medieval city. This evening, travel out into the Tuscan hills for a New Year’s Eve Highlight Dinner at a house where Niccolo Machiavelli once lived, where you’ll enjoy delicious traditional food, local wine and musical entertainment.

DAY 13: THURSDAY 1ST JANUARY

FLORENCE & ROME (2 Nights)

Take it easy and sleep in before a mid-morning departure to travel south to the eternal city of Rome.

DAY 14: FRIDAY 2ND JANUARY

ROME SIGHTSEEING

Your Local Expert takes you on a tour of the Vatican Museums to visit the Sistine Chapel. Later visit St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City, view the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Spend time this afternoon visiting the sights of your choice. This evening, join your travelling companions and Travel Director for a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant.

DAY 15: FRIDAY 3RD JANUARY

DEPART ROME

Say ‘arrivederci’ to Rome and your travelling companions, and return home with memories you will cherish for years to come.

Early Payment Discount: Save $528 per couple (or $264 per person) is a 5% discount if booked and paid in full by 17 July 2014
Booking Deposit & Final Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $200 is due within 7 days of booking. Full balance is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. For bookings made within 60 days of departure full payment is due within 48 hours.
Fares: All fares are quoted in New Zealand  Dollars. Fares include transport, entrance fees as per itinerary, plus services of a driver and Travel Director and meals as specified. (This holiday EXCLUDES airfares)
Accommodation: Hotel accommodation includes twin-bedded rooms with private facilities, all hotel service charges, baggage handling fees and local taxes. Single rooms are available on request basis and a single supplement applies.
Cancellation penalties apply:
  • For cancellations over 45 days prior to departure date = Loss of deposit
  • For cancellations over 45 - 22 days prior to departure date = 25% of total price
  • For cancellations over 21 - 8 days prior to departure date = 30% of total price
  • For cancellations 7 - 1 days prior to departure date = 50% of total price
  • For cancellations day of departure / no show = 100% of total price
  • Further cancellation fees may apply.
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend that passengers purchase travel insurance.
Passports & Visas: It is the responsibility of each individual passenger to have a valid passport and necessary visas, as well as to comply with entry, health or other requirements for the counties visited.
Triple Room Reduction, Single Supplement and Child Reduction: A triple room reduction of $176 per person is available - triple rooms are based on existing bedding and may not be comfortable for three adults sharing one room. The supplement for a single room is $1,264. A reduction of $550 is available for a child aged 14 years or under sharing a room with one or two adults.
