This was my first vacation overseas so I did not know what to expect and I was nervous. After meeting our tour director Emile on the first day of our European Cavalcade tour I knew we were going to have a fabulous time on our tour and all the nerves quickly disappeared on that day. We had two bus drivers during our tour, Enzo and Gaitando and they were both friendly and had incredible driving skills. I learnt more on our tour about the history of the different countries we visited from Emile than what I did all throughout high school. We were extremely lucky having Emile as our tour director - he took care of every little detail to make our holiday enjoyable and hassle free.
This photo was taken from the balcony of our Sorrento hotel. We had just finished a lovely dinner as a group in the hotel's restaurant and were busy reminiscing about what we had seen so far on our tour when we noticed the sun was starting to set. Emile showed us where the best viewing point was and we all stayed there watching this magical view.
There were 44 people on our tour, they were mainly from Australia and New Zealand, a few were from Canada, South Africa and South Korea and we all had a great time together visiting ten countries in seventeen days. I could not believe how quickly everyone on the tour went from being total strangers on day one to family by the end of day two. We enjoyed cruises on the Rhine, Seine and Lake Lucerne; rides in a gondola, funicular railway and cable car to the top of Mount Stanserhorn; Moulin Rouge and excursions to Capri and Pompeii.
I did all the optional excursions that were offered on our tour, each excursion offering an amazing experience. It didn't matter what the weather was like, our group made the most of every situation. While on our horse and carriage ride through the alpine scenery in Innsbruck it started to rain heavily - that did not stop us still having a great time. Our group started to sing all the songs we could think of that were about rain and turned this into a magnificent experience that we all kept talking about throughout the rest of our tour.
I would recommend Trafalgar Tours to anyone who is thinking of traveling. This was my first Trafalgar tour experience but it won't be my last!
