  • Description: Begin your Vietnam trip at a Welcome Reception in the grounds of the Vietnam National Fine Art Museum. Explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter and see the uniquely northern Vietnamese water puppet performance. Spend a night cruising Ha Long Bay aboard a traditional Junk sailing boat and try Tai Chi on the sundeck at the break of dawn. In rural Hue take a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, and later visit a private bonsai garden. Soak up the tranquil Vietnamese coastal town of Hoi An and enjoy a Be My Guest experience at Tra Que village. Fly to Ho Chi Minh City and visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels by speedboat. Cruise along the Mekong River to see delta scenery and local handicrafts. End your holiday in Cambodia with a visit to Angkor Wat, one of the most important religious monuments in the world. On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • Hue

    • + Day 5 Royal dinner at Ancient Hue Royal cuisine at Nguyen Emperors’ banquets was legendary. Dress up in traditional Royal costume like King, Queen and Mandarins, and savour an unforgettable dinner with typical Royal dishes at Ancient Hue restaurant. Its distinctive ancient houses offer a glimpse of the city’s past.(minimum of three to four people)

  • Hoi An

    • + Day 7 My Son temples My Son is one of the foremost Hindu temple sites in south-east Asia. For the Cham civilization that ruled Central Vietnam from the second to the thirteenth-century, My Son was an important religious site and place of worship. A one-and-a-half-hour drive from Hoi An will bring you to My Son where there are 20 monuments still standing today. The temples are set in a verdant valley surrounded by hills and overlooked by the impressive Cat Tooth Mountain. Stroll around this UNESCO listed temple complex to learn about the Cham culture, architecture and civilization before returning to Hoi An.(minimum of three to four people)

    • + Day 7 Private Vietnamese cooking class Transfer by boat to the Red Bridge Cooking School. Work together with the Red Bridge chef who teaches you the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food. Use the freshest ingredients and traditional Vietnamese utensils to prepare four famous dishes, including the national dish ‘Pho’. After class, enjoy a short feedback session and take the chance to savour the dishes you have prepared. Bid farewell to the chef and board a local boat for a short cruise along the Hoi An River.(minimum of three to four people)

  • Tonle Sap

    • + Day 12 Sarus sunset cruise and tour Make your way downstairs to the Elephant Terrace Restaurant ready for 4pm – the meeting point for the beginning of the Sunset Cruise. Then you’ll transfer as a group to Chhong Kneas, a trading port of agricultural products on the edge of Tonle Sap Lake. Board the Sarus, a traditional yet luxurious wooden boat, and embark on a relaxing and insightful sunset cruise on the lake. Drinks are served while you observe the local lifestyle. Towards the end of the day, the activity on the lake picks up as people return from their fish farms to present and sell their catch at the local market. Continue to the open waters and take in sunset before returning to the port for a transfer back to Siem Reap. Please note: only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Sarus boat doesn’t operate between April and August.
