On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.


A reduction of 25% of the cost of the Optional Excursions is offered to all children under the age of 16 years at the time of travel. Please Note: This discount to does not apply to North America optionals, as they are already discounted.

  • LONDON

    • + Madame Tussauds Mix with the famous and infamous at London's renowned Wax Museum. Open 9.30am - 5.30pm.

    • + Afternoon Tour Everything Royal During August and September you have the opportunity to discover and explore the world of Royalty. Be dazzled and amazed at the State Coach, used by Sovereigns when opening Parliament and other magical state occasions, when exploring the Royal Mews. And finally, enjoy a relaxed walking tour of Buckingham Palace, visiting the state rooms and throne rooms of this fully occupied working palace. This optional operates on Tuesday/Friday and Saturday during August and September only.

    • + London Dungeon Experience London's dark past. Open Daily 10am - 5.30pm.

    • + Buckingham Palace Visit the World famous Buckingham Palace. Please be aware that this optional is only available between July - September.

    • + Evening Tour Jack The Ripper s Sinister London Fri Sat Sun April - September This evening we re-trace the footsteps of this infamous serial killer, through narrow alleyways, derelict corners and Victorian pubs, following a trail which some experts say leads to Queen Victoria herself!  Your guide will talk you through the suspects that sparked the biggest whodunnit of its time. You will also have the chance to see parts of London, in the shadow of the financial district, which have barely changed since Victorian times. This evening tour starts at 7pm and finishes at Trafalgar Square at 10pm.

    • + Morning Tour Windsor Express A drive through the English countryside to Windsor, with time to explore the castle or stroll through the narrow streets of the pretty town with its many quaint gift shops. Entrance to the castle grounds is included and you may visit the State Apartments (unless there is a member of the Royal family in residence) and St George's Chapel. This optional operates on Wednesday and Saturday only.

    • + Afternoon Tour City And Tower A tour of the old 'City of London', including a drive through the financial centre followed by a visit to St Paul's Cathedral. We then cross London Bridge and Tower Bridge to stop at the Tower of London for a guided tour and viewing of the Crown Jewels. NB: On occasion this tour may be operated by our sister company, Evan Evans.

    • + London Eye See London from above. Open from 10am - 6pm.

    • + London By Night See London with its lights on! A spectacular guided open-top tour of some of the very best sights of this magical city. Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, and many more famous landmarks lit up in splendour. Departs from Piccadily, next to the Ritz Hotel and is fully guided in English. This optional operates nightly.

    • + Full Day Tour Basically Paris What better way to spend the day than exploring Paris at your own pace. Travel on the famous Eurostar - pass through the Kent countryside at speeds in excess of 290 km/h (180 mph), through the Channel Tunnel and then into France. Arrive in Paris and the whole day is yours to explore. Climb the Eiffel Tower - see the whole of Paris from above, enjoy a river cruise, or perhaps a coffee on the Champs Elysees. Visit the Louvre (closed on Tuesday) and marvel at its splendour, all at your own pace. This optional operates Monday - Saturday only.
