On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • PARIS

    • + DINNER AND MUSIC IN MONTMARTRE We begin with a visit to Montmartre by mini-train, with a guided tour of this delightful artists' quarter of Paris. After enjoying a four course meal in a traditional Paris restaurant with live music, (drinks included) we will have time to visit the charming main square, Place du Tertre. See the artists stalls as well as the beautiful basilica of Sacre Coeur, not to mention some shopping.

    • + VERSAILLES - THE PALACE, GARDENS AND FOUNTAINS * We leave the bustle of the city for the splendour of Versailles. Created by the “Sun King” Louis XIV, the palace became the envy of every other European ruler. Our guide takes us through the State apartments, including the famous Hall of Mirrors. Afterwards, take a stroll through the symmetrical tree-lined gardens while the fountains play. (NB. This optional is subject to availability).

    • + LE GRAND LOUVRE The Louvre - the biggest and best known museum in the world was once the palace of kings. Follow the expert guide through the sumptuous maze of galleries to see the main attractions including Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece - the 'Mona Lisa', and the State Apartments decorated in the style of Emperor Napoleon III.

    • + MOULIN ROUGE CABARET AND DINNER Dinner and Cabaret, including wine and champagne, at the world famous Moulin Rouge - the original Paris cabaret - immortalized by the recent award winning film and featuring 60 dancers and entertainers and over 1000 costumes!

    • + NOTRE DAME LATIN QUARTER AND SEINE CRUISE We begin by visiting the cornerstone of Gothic architecture in France, built in 1163, the magnificent cathedral that lies at the heart of Paris, Notre Dame. Then some free time to have a bite to eat in the Latin Quarter, or perhaps try the famous Berthillon ice-cream - the best in France! The perfect way to discover Paris is with a relaxing cruise on the River Seine, as you sail gently by the wonders of France's capital, and learn about the buildings you are admiring. In the evening Paris is a city transformed - don't forget your camera!

  • ROME

    • + ROMAN EVENING WITH DINNER A light hearted evening in Rome. We will relax and enjoy a typical Italian meal (drinks included), while live musicians entertain us. To complete our evening, we will drive along the Via Veneto, a location made famous by the film 'La Dolce Vita' and see how the Romans enjoy their city. A wonderful end to our day.

    • + TIVOLI AND LUNCH OR DINNER An excursion to the ancient Sabine town of Tivoli situated a few miles outside Rome to enjoy the gardens and fountains of the Villa D'Este. You will visit its grottos and pavilions, the Avenue of a Hundred Fountains, and the Dragon Fountain of the Organ. We end the visit with a typical Italian lunch or dinner, wine, soft drinks and music. (Without lunch or dinner, Euro 41)

    • + ROMAN DELIGHTS An easy evening getting to know Rome and some of its main sights by coach. Followed by a delicious light dinner of Italian specialities. Music and Drinks included

    • + ROMAN HIGHLIGHTS An extension to the included sightseeing tour which allows us to admire the artistic masterpieces collected and commissioned by the Popes and displayed in the Vatican Museums. See the famous Tapestry Gallery and Gallery of Maps then finally wonder at the masterpieces in the Sistine Chapel. Take your time - Michelangelo spent 11 years in the preparation of the vault and altar wall! Later we will visit the Pantheon, and take a stroll around Piazza Navona, to admire the sketch artists at work.
