JASPER – BANFF NATIONAL PARK (2 NIGHTS)

The Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff is one of the most magnificent mountain drives in the world, made even more impressive during the winter months when the towering peaks of the Canadian Rockies are overrun with glistening snow. Relax during a leisurely drive down to the quaint town of Banff. Check into the stately Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, and partake in a heritage tour of your magnificent Authentic Accommodation where the likes of Helen Keller, Marilyn Monroe, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited. Another guest of the hotel, Benny Goodman, was influential in Banff obtaining its own landing strip, as he wanted to stay at the hotel but could only do so if there was an area to land his plane. The hotel's late Victorian architecture of visually clean, striking and exciting style became so significant throughout the early 1900's that it became the focal point of Canadian architecture until the beginning of the second world war. After dinner, learn about the history of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police during a “Meet a Mountie” Local Expert presentation.
