Weather: As can be expected of its desert location Luxor is very hot, with temperatures remaining relatively high through the year. The extent of the heat makes ample supplies of water essential as well as sunglasses, sun block and crucially a hat to protect from the suns relentless glare. In temperatures that have melted unsuspecting tourist sneakers care should be taken; resting at midday and perhaps limiting outings to two or three sights a day are advisable.
