Perhaps lacking in conventional shopping, Luxor more than makes up for this with its sale of souvenirs, trinkets and antiquities. Certainly worth checking out are the book shops on the Corniche. However be aware that the asking price of many items can be ridiculous. So it might be worth knowing what you are looking for in many of the small shops and be prepared to haggle, your success of course depends on your charm.
