What to see in Berlin?

1. The Reichstag: As the seat of the German Parliament, the Reichstag is a functional but beautiful building. Almost destroyed by fire during WWII it has since been restored to its former glory and is one of Berlin’s most historic landmarks.
2. Brandenburg Gate: Originally commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm II to represent peace, Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate was ironically incorporated as part of the Berlin Wall during the years of the Communist government. It is now one of the most visited attractions in Berlin.
3. Berliner Fernsehturm: The tallest building in Germany, this soaring TV tower offers amazing 360° views across the whole of Berlin.
4. Unter den Linden: This wide boulevard is a major thoroughfare through Berlin and is the location of many important sights from the Brandenburg Gate to the State Opera house and the Humboldt University.
5. Tiergarten: 2.5 square kilometres (1 square mile) of manicured lawns and lush groves make the Tiergarten public garden the perfect spot to reflect on your German vacation.
