There is plenty to buy in the Puglia region, including colourful pottery, textiles, high-quality leather goods and a range of local culinary specialities including wines, cheeses, olives and an assortment of confectionery. Lecce is famous for its brightly coloured cartapesta (papier-mache) ornaments, figures and masks. Good examples can be found at La Casa dell'Artigianato Leccese, at Via Matteotti 18.
