Lisbon is a fish lover’s heaven where you will find fresh bass; cockle; mussels; red mullets; clams; oysters; swordfish and crustaceans. Other specialities include goat and sheep cheese, zimbros (gin cakes) and queijadas (little cheese cakes). Grilled sardines are a national speciality and can be found in both street cafés and restaurants.
