Swiss dishes borrow from the best of German and French cuisine. There is a fantastic selection of cheeses - most famously, Emmenthaler and Gruyere are combined with white wine to create fondue in which bread cubes are dipped. Very filling and delicious… Fresh perch and trout from the cold clear lakes are also good. Best of all is Swiss chocolate whether by itself or used in a variety of pastries and desserts. Finish off with Kaffee fertig, a coffee laced with Schnapps.
