Zurich’s main shopping area is found within one square kilometre of the city’s centre, and offers some of the most charming shopping experiences in Europe. The best way to start is at the city’s main railway station (Hauptbahnhof), making your way to the “Bahnhofstrasse” for luxury fashion items and jewellery. The smaller boutiques along the Bahnhofstrasse are delightful and make for entertaining window shopping.
The charming “Altstadt” (Old town) and “Langstrasse” are crammed with “bargains”, but it is a good idea to remember that the Swiss are not known for their love of low prices – rather, their love of quality means higher prices.
