On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • LIMA

    • + URBAN BIKE TOUR Begin your bike tour riding through the charming streets hidden in the heart of Miraflores before heading to the impressive pre-Inca ruins of the archeological center of Huaca Pucllana that operated between the V and VIII centuries A.C. Continue to the Olivar of San Isidro, that stands out among the parks of the region and symbolizes the colonial and republican tradition of this area, highlighted by its magnificent olive trees dating back to Spanish times. Return to Miraflores and stop on the way to replenish your energy by enjoying a snack in a traditional location. Finish the course riding by the sea, passing by cliffs, parks, modern shopping malls, sculptures, a bridge and an old lighthouse. Length: 3.5 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).

    • + CASA ALIAGA VISIT Visit the “Casa Aliaga” at Lima. This is a great example of colonial architecture, and is the one of the best preserved American colonial mansions. It has been occupied since 1535 by the same family. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).

    • + HD PACHACAMAC PILGRIMAGE CENTER Drive 30 minutes southeast of Lima to visit the Pachacamac Pilgrimage Center. Pilgrims flocked here from far away to worship Pachacamac, who was believed to be the creator of the world and its creatures. The site includes palaces, plazas and temples that have been painstakingly restored. The on-site museum has a collection of local relics. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).

    • + DISCOVERING THE PERUVIAN STREET FOOD Drive to Barranco and stroll around this quaint and traditional district, considered to be the city's most romantic and bohemian, being the home and working place of many of Peru's leading artists, musicians, designers and photographers. Stop at the Park of Barranco to try the exquisite traditional Peruvian “anticuchos”, made with beef heart and seasoned with garlic, vinegar, cumin, and aji panca, a mild red chile pepper with a smoky flavor. Don't knock them till you try them! Have a taste of the typical “picarones”, a fabulous crispy and warm dessert, dripping with syrup. Length: 2 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).

    • + LIMA FISH MARKET Transfer to the market of Villa Maria. The fishing terminal of Villa Maria constitutes a gastronomic experience not to be missed. Upon arrival, a full menu of all types of seafood is displayed before you. The “caseros” stand before their refrigerated vans offering their fish like “toyo”, “corvina”, “lenguado”, “diablos”, and many other local species. For this visit it is recommended to wear boots as the ground is always wet. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).

  • CUSCO

    • + SAN BLAS WALKING TOUR A pleasant walk through the quaint district of San Blas. Visit its beautiful colonial church, which houses an impressive pulpit, a filigree woodcarving bearing the fruits of the region that is dedicated to the Virgin of the Blessed Event. Stroll through the many handicraft and native art galleries in the little square. Roam the ancient quarters dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Length: 3 hours. (Minimum: 2 pax).
