On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • CAGLIARI

    • + HIGHLIGHTS OF SOUTHERN SARDINIA Leaving Cagliari, we pass by St Gilla's Lagoon, a wetland famous for its flamingos and other water birds. Arriving in Nora, the oldest city in Sardinia, founded by the Phoenicians, we will visit this important archaeologial site, with a local guide. See the mosaics, the Roman theatre and remains of the city now under the water. We end with a walk along the seafront to the Church of St Efisio, patron saint of Cagliari.

    • + CAGLIARI BY NIGHT AND DINNER We begin by driving to Poetta, the famous beach of Cagliari, where we will enjoy a sea food dinner in a restaurant with stunning views of the sea. On our return we will stop at a panoramic point to enjoy a spectacular view of the city by night.

  • ALGHERO

    • + CAPPO CACCIA DRIVE Enjoy a scenic drive to Cappo Caccia, the most westerly point of the Island of Sardinia, famous for its caves and impressive cliffs.

    • + CAPPO CACCIA SCENIC BOAT TRIP Take an exhilarating and refreshing boat trip to the famous Cappo Caccia, the most westerly point of Sardinia, with its impressive and dramatic cliffs. We will return to Alghero by road with panoramic views of the coast. (Weather permitting).

  • OLBIA

    • + EXCURSION TO CAPRERA Garibaldi, the great Italian patriot and national hero, spent his retirement, died and is buried on his farm on the island of Caprera. Our trip includes a tour of La Maddalena, to see the beautiful beaches and bays, as well as a vist to Garibaldi's house, on the island which is now a national monument.

    • + TYPICAL SARDINIAN DINNER BY LAKE LISCIA We drive inland from Olbia to this charming little lake surrounded by vegetation of oak and olive trees, some over 1000 years old. We then enjoy a wonderful dinner of Sardinian delicacies including the famous suckling pig, wild boar and great local wines.
