On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • SYDNEY

    • + BLUE MOUNTAINS WILDLIFE Pass by Homebush Bay, site of the 2000 Olympics. Discover Leura village, a delightful blend of groomed gardens and quaint shops. Stop at Echo Point and see the famous Three Sisters rock formation. See Katoomba in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Visit Scenic World for a chance to ride the steepest railway in the world (own expense). Enjoy an afternoon encounter at Featherdale Wildlife Park. Have your photo taken with a cuddly koala. See kangaroos, wombats, dingoes and cute little penguins.

    • + BRIDGECLIMB The Bridge Climb is a 3 1⁄2 hour guided day climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It takes you along the outer arch of the Bridge on catwalks and ladders all the way to the summit, 134 metres above Sydney Harbour. In Climb groups of up to 14 people, you'll be led by one of BridgeClimb's professional Climb Leaders on an adventure of the world's most recognisable Bridge. The steady incline to the summit leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities to witness 360 degree views of Sydney, including east to the Sydney Opera House, west to the Blue Mountains and the Harbour city surrounds. When you reach the top you will have a sense of achievement that you will remember forever - you've conquered an Australian icon recognised the world over! Our professional Climb Leaders will take pictures of you on the Climb and at the end you will receive a commemorative Climber Certificate, Climber Cap and a complimentary group photograph, with all Climbers in the group receiving an identical photo. A night climb is Adult $198 / Child $138. Please note: Both the day and night climb excludes 27 Dec-08 Jan)

    • + HUNTER VALLEY WINERIES Cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge then be treated to magnificent views of the Hawkesbury River. Experience a private tasting at Lindemans Wines. Visit Hunter Resort and learn about the history of wine in the Hunter region. Enjoy a tasting platter lunch offering a range of local produce. Further tastings include a visit to McGuigan Wines. You'll have free time to explore the many hidden delights in the Hunter Valley Gardens village - why not try some chocolate at the candy store!

    • + SYDNEY FULL DAY SIGHTSEEING TOUR Travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge to picturesque Milsons Point. One of Sydney’s more affluent suburbs, the streets are lined with beautiful homes, churches and schools, many built in the late 1800s. Next stop is Arabanoo Lookout which offers views out to North and South Head and over the Pacific Ocean. It’s just breathtaking, particularly if the whales drop by for a visit. Time to feel the sand between your toes. With its relaxed, outdoor lifestyle, Manly is a great place to take some time out to wander along the golden sandy beaches that stretch from Queenscliff up to the North Steyne Beach to Manly Beach. You might also like to take in some of the local sights and treat yourself to morning tea in one of the many cafés (own expense). Back in the city, you'll drive through the Rocks historical area, Chinatown, Darling Harbour then travel east through Paddington, Rushcutters Bay and Double Bay. Your next destination is famous Bondi Beach. You'll have time for take a stroll along the long stretch of white sand or treat yourself to afternoon tea at one of the many cafes (own expense) before returning to the city where your tour concludes.

    • + SYDNEY TOWER RESTAURANT DINNER Enjoy a memorable evening perched high above the city with uninterrupted panoramic views. This delicious early buffet dinner on Friday to Sunday nights includes over 40 freshly prepared dishes, from a range of cuisines including Australian, Chinese, Italian, Vietnamese and a selection of fresh seafood. An early buffet is also available Monday to Thurday for Adult $69.50 and Child $25.

  • CAIRNS

    • + INTRODUCTORY DIVE No experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive and explore the reef and its amazing marine life. Snorkel tours are a great way to maximise your experience on the Great Barrier Reef with many magnificent sites to capture the excitement. Note: Age and medical restrictions may apply to diving.

    • + OCHRE RESTAURANT Ochre Restaurant has created a whole new Australian Cuisine utilising the abundant and, until recently, untapped traditional native fruits, berries, game meats and seafood, as well as the best of Australian wines and beers.

    • + OUTER REEF SCENIC FLIGHT Complete your reef experience by joining a 10 minute reef scenic flight to view the majestic coral formations from the air.

    • + TJAPUKAI BY NIGHT Journey into dreamtime legend and discover the magic of Australia's ancient indigenous culture. Immerse yourself in the traditions of Tjapukai 'the people of the rainforest' through traditional and contemporary cultural performances. Tour includes a welcome drink and face painting upon arrival to 'initiate' you into the Tjapukai tribe, solemn didgeridoo blessing, cultural performances, lake-side fire making ceremony and an international buffet dinner.

  • NOOSA

    • + NOOSA EVERGLADES CRUISE Noosa Everglades Discovery offers you an unforgettable wilderness cruise into one of Australia's most pristine regions. Explore beyond Noosa into the mysterious dark tannin waters and enjoy the magnificent Noosa River as it changes colour while the sun sets slowly in paradise.

  • DAYDREAM ISLAND

    • + WHITEHAVEN BEACH CRUISE Exlpore the beautiful bays, islands and beaches and see the very best of the Whitsundays National Park on this fully guided half day cruise to Whitehaven Beach, onboard an air-conditioned vessel with informative commentary.
