  • Description: Mykonos and Santorini are the islands of choice, with three nights on each to soak up the laid-back island lifestyle of two of Greece's favourite hot-spots. It's Insider moments like… slippery-smooth marble underfoot, you escape the Grecian heat to explore the shadows of the Acropolis. Leaving the mainland, the rush of the sea beneath you as you speed toward classical construction of a different kind, and the blue and white Cycladic architecture of Mykonos. Turquoise water and fine-grained sands call you away from the windmills, maze-like streets and cosy tavernas. Then to Santorini, volcanic island of epic sunsets, to taste traditional cuisine, and maybe even some local wine.

    MYKONOS – FREE TIME

You have two glorious days to spend exploring Mykonos! The most cosmopolitan of all the Greek islands, Mykonos is also well-known for its splendid beaches. This glittering, glamorous destination features an old town that is packed with charm, where whitewashed cubic houses with blue wooden shutters and balconies line labyrinthine cobbled streets. Notable landmarks include the picturesque waterside area of Little Venice, the 18th century Church of the Paraportiani, the Archaelogical Museum and the Aegean Maritime Museum. In Greek mythology Mykonos was the site of a battle between Zeus and the Titans, and named in honour of Apollo's grandson. Don't forget to swim in the sparkling sea and enjoy cocktails at a waterfront restaurant! For sightseeing further afield, take a trip to Delos, believed by the ancients to be the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo, where you will find many interesting temples and sanctuaries.
