    On arrival at Melbourne Airport you are transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 3pm). This evening meet your Travel Director for a Welcome Reception and dinner on board the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant.

    MELBOURNE - ALICE SPRINGS

    Transfer to the airport for your flight to Alice Springs. On arrival visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service, where you'll hear from a Local Expert how this marvellous facility operates to provide a 'mantle of safety' to the people of the outback. Next stop is the School of the Air followed by the Telegraph Station. This evening join us on a discovery tour at the Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre. Enjoy a Be My Guest dinner and afterwards hear from the Falzon brothers, Tom and Danny, about the sustainable lifestyle the have established.

    ALICE SPRINGS - ULURU (AYERS ROCK) (2 NIGHTS)

    Travel through rugged outback scenery to Ayers Rock Resort, your Authentic Accommodation. This evening enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine while watching the spectacular sunset at Uluru (Ayers Rock).

    KATA TJUTA (THE OLGAS)

    View sunrise at Uluru (Ayers Rock). Tour the caves at its base, hear stories of the Aboriginal Dreamtime and gain a Unique Insight into local Aboriginal culture. Travel through the desert plains to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Walk through Walpa Gorge and later experience a Kata Tjuta sunset with complimentary wine and nibbles.

  • Day 9

    ULURU (AYERS ROCK) - CAIRNS (3 NIGHTS)

    Join a local Aboriginal artist for a fun introduction to Western Desert Art, a Local Speciality. Your Anangu artist will provide you with an introduction to their culture. You'll be assisted to complete your own painting, which you can take home as a memento of your experience. You'll then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cairns.

    GREAT BARRIER REEF

    Board a high speed catamaran for the most unforgettable day on the Great Barrier Reef. Enjoy an informative reef education presentation by a Local Expert. See the fascinating coral formations and other exotic marine life from the underwater observatory and the semi-submersible craft. After a Highlight Lunch, there’s time to relax, snorkel some more or scuba dive (own expense).

    Spend time at the Cairns Wildlife Dome, where you’ll encounter unique Australian animals. We will transfer you to the airport to board your flight to Sydney, where you have free time this evening.

    SYDNEY SIGHTSEEING

    See stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the city skyline on a sightseeing tour, before you join a tour of the Opera House with a Local Expert. Re-board your coach and see the Royal Botanic Gardens, Mrs. Macquarie's Chair and Kings Cross. You'll travel to Bondi Beach, where you can dip your toes in the cool clear water. Return to the city for a cruise on the glistening harbour. You'll then have the opportunity to learn about Australia’s national gemstone - the opal.

    SYDNEY FREE TIME

    Enjoy a full free day in exciting Sydney. Spend your last evening in Sydney together along with your Travel Director at a Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant by the water.

    SYDNEY - AUCKLAND (2 NIGHTS)

    AUCKLAND - ROTORUA

    Travel into the Waikato region to the incredible Waitomo Glow Worm Grotto for a boat tour with a Local Expert. Then continue to Rotorua where you'll visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve and be accompanied by a Local Expert. This evening, enjoy a Be My Guest traditional Maori Hangi dinner with local wine, and a concert at the Tamaki Family Marae.

    ROTORUA - CHRISTCHURCH

    You will be transferred to the airport to fly to Christchurch. On arrival board your coach for a tour to see how the city is slowly being rebuilt as a consequence of the devastating earthquake of February 2011.

    CHRISTCHURCH - FRANZ JOSEF

    Journey through the Southern Alps on the TranzAlpine Train. At Hokitika visit a local greenstone (jade) factory, a Local Speciality. Continue to Franz Josef Glacier.

    FRANZ JOSEF - QUEENSTOWN (3 NIGHTS)

    Drive over the Haast Pass, past Thunder Creek Falls, Lakes Wanaka, Hawea and Dunstan. Enjoy the tastes of delicious stone fruit at Cromwell, the stone fruit capital, a Local Speciality. Next visit the historic gold mining village of Arrowtown before arriving in adventure-capital Queenstown.

    MILFORD SOUND

    An early start for Milford Sound. Drive along the shores of Lake Wakatipu to Te Anau then through the rainforest of Fiordland National Park. Travel through the hand-hewn Homer Tunnel to abundant photo opportunities afforded by the Mirror Lake, Cleddau Valley and the Chasm, en route to Milford Sound to board your cruise including a Highlight Lunch.

    QUEENSTOWN FREE TIME

    A full day to explore Queenstown, your way. Go wild with a jet boat ride or white water rafting or take it easy on a wine or garden tour.

    Visit Lake Tekapo, stopping at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Join us at Morelea Farm, a typical working sheep farm. Join your Travel Director this evening in Christchurch for a Farewell Dinner.
