    DEPART USA

    Overnight flight to Rome.

  • Day 2

    ARRIVE ROME (3 NIGHTS)

    Welcome to Rome, the Eternal City! Relax after your journey, then meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers later for a Welcome Reception. This evening, enjoy an orientation drive to see St. Peter’s Basilica and the Tiber, a great introduction to this magical city.

  • Day 3

    ROME SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME

    Your included sightseeing tour with a Local Guide begins at the Vatican Museums. Experience a Unique Insight in the Vatican when you ascend the smooth and step-less spiral staircase designed by famous architect Donato Bramante. Admire Michelangelo’s magnificent frescoed ceiling in the Sistine Chapel and then visit St. Peter’s Basilica to see his famous Pietà. Your tour continues in ancient Rome. See the Forum and also Circus Maximus, where chariot races were held. Visit the impressive Colosseum. There’s time afterwards to explore the city on your own, or simply relax and watch the world go by!

  • Day 4

    ROME - AT LEISURE

    The day is yours to explore this wonderful city. Consider a trip to the ancient catacombs or take an excursion to Tivoli, site of the magnificent Villa d’Este. Visit museums and gardens, or simply experience ‘la dolce vita’ at a sidewalk café in one of the city’s many piazzas.

  • Day 5

    ROME - MONTE CASSINO - POMPEII - AMALFI COAST (MAIORI) (3 NIGHTS)

    Stop to view the Abbey at Monte Cassino and visit the cemetery in the valley below. In Pompeii - buried for centuries when Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD - your Local Guide takes you on a fascinating Small Group Sightseeing tour of the excavations. Arrive later at your hotel on the Amalfi Coast where you dine tonight.

    AMALFI COAST FREE TIME

    Your day is free to do as you please. Perhaps visit the splendid Villa Rufolo at Ravello or shop for souvenirs. Spend the evening sipping limoncello while overlooking the glorious Bay of Salerno! Enjoy dinner at your hotel this evening.

  • Day 7

    ISLE OF CAPRI EXCURSION

    Sail to the magical island of Capri, a favourite resort among Italians. Ascend to Capri town by funicular railway for a guided walking tour which includes views of the Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola and the famous Piazzetta. Later, your Travel Director takes you on an orientation tour of Amalfi town, featuring medieval streets and the spectacular Romanesque Church.

  • Day 8

    AMALFI COAST (MAIORI) - FLORENCE (2 NIGHTS)

    North through Umbria and into Tuscany you arrive in Florence. Tonight why not dine at one of the city’s many trattorias.

    FLORENCE SIGHTSEEING AND WINE TASTING

    Florence is a beautiful city with a wealth of Renaissance treasures to discover. Your Local Guide shows you all the main sights including the marble Duomo and Piazza Signoria, with its amazing sculptures. View the famous Ponte Vecchio, followed by a Wine Tasting with your Travel Director featuring popular Tuscan wines. Join your companions this evening for an authentic Be My Guest dinner in a castle on a wine and olive estate.

  • Day 10

    FLORENCE - FERRARA - VENICE (2 NIGHTS)

    Marvel at the breath-taking scenery on your journey across the Apennines via Bologna. In Ferrara, see the family home of the notorious d’Este family. Arrive later in the Byzantine city of Venice, Queen of the Adriatic, where you stay for the next two nights.

    VENICE ORIENTATION AND FREE TIME

    See the island of St. George, the elegant Customs House, the Doge’s Palace and the Bridge of Sighs as you cruise to St. Mark’s Square in your private launch. Stroll across St. Mark’s Square to see the Basilica and its campanile. Watch the Venetian craftsmen at work creating local specialities at a glass-blowing workshop on Giudecca island. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your Travel Director and newfound friends.

    VENICE - USA
