ROME SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Your Local Guide takes you on a sightseeing tour of the city. Visit St. Peter's Basilica, one of the holiest Christian sites in the world. Cross the River Tiber and admire views of the iconic Colosseum and the Forum, of daily life in ancient Rome. Spend free time discovering the city on your own.
Day 4
ROME - MESTRE, VENICE (2 NIGHTS)
Follow the upper Tiber valley past the medieval hilltop towns of Orte and Orvieto in Umbria to Tuscany, a unique and fertile landscape with olive groves and vineyards stretching into the distance. Cross the dramatic Apennine Mountains and arrive later close to the magical city of Venice.

Day 5
VENICE ORIENTATION AND FREE TIME
Savour the unique sights of Venice as you cruise by private launch to its heart, St. Mark's Square. Marvel at the Bridge of Sighs, the magnificent Doge's Palace and the Byzantine basilica adorned with glass mosaics. Watch the Venetian craftsmen at work creating local specialities at a glass-blowing workshop on Giudecca island. Explore this fascinating city in your free time or perhaps take a trip across the lagoon to Burano Island for a seafood lunch.

VENICE - VERONA - FLORENCE (2 NIGHTS)
Drive west to Verona, the home of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. View the vast Roman Arena on your walking orientation, where concerts are still held, and then see Juliet's balcony. Your journey continues through the gastronomic region of Emilia Romagna to Tuscany and the Renaissance city of Florence.

FLORENCE SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Florence enjoys a unique artistic heritage. Experience the delights during your sightseeing tour on foot with your knowledgeable Local Guide. Admire the Baptistery, renowned for its carved bronze doors, the marble Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's impressive bell tower, and the Piazza Signoria. Enjoy a demonstration of leatherwork, with time afterwards to explore or to shop for high quality Italian goods and 18-carat gold jewellery.

FLORENCE - ASSISI - ROME
Through the rolling countryside of Tuscany into Umbria, you arrive at the mystical town of Assisi on the slopes of Mount Subasio. See the sights of St. Francis' birthplace, including the medieval ramparts and the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels, built on the site where St. Francis died. Later, on your final night in Rome, you might like to celebrate the end of your holiday with a special dinner.
