On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • ITALIAN LAKES

    • + BORROMEAN ISLANDS ISOLA BELLA PALACE TOUR A private launch takes us to the world-renowned islands of Lake Maggiore. We see the Isola Madre, the Isola dei Pescatori, and on the Isola Bella we visit the palace of the Borromean princes.

    • + VILLAS OF LAKE COMO We drive along the shores of Lake Como. Here we board our private launch for a leisurely cruise past the most elegant villas and gardens of this region - arguably the most beautiful spot in the Italian Lake District. Afterwards, free time to have dinner in one of the many restaurants on the lake front.

    • + LAKE ORTA SAN GIULIO ISLAND We take a scenic drive, with a local guide, to Pettenasco on the shores of Lake Orta, without doubt northern Italy's best kept secret. After time for a stroll, we cruise by local boat to the island of San Giulio, famous for its peaceful atmosphere and delightful church.

  • LA SPEZIA

    • + DINNER AND DRIVE Enjoy a feast of local specialties at this delightful venue, with wine.

  • PARMA

    • + DINNER AND DRIVE A delightful dinner of local specialties with wine. Parma, which is noted for its delicacies, is considered to be the home of Italian cuisine.

  • MILAN

    • + TREASURES OF MILAN With a local city guide we visit some of this bustling city's most famous sights. First we enter the impressive Castello Sforza - today one of the country's most important museums, where we see the 'Pieta of Rondanini' by Michelangelo among other great works. Then we continue to the world renowned 'La Scala' opera house and museum. (Should either La Scala or the Castello be unavailable, there will be a visit to the remarkable Museum of Milan.)
