On every itinerary, we offer a range of optional excursions that allow you to further enhance your experience should you so choose. These are purchased when you are on your trip, via your Trafalgar Travel Director. Depending on the region visited these can be paid with cash or credit card.

  • LISBON

    • + FADO WITH DINNER An evening's entertainment Portuguese style. Savour a typical meal with local aperitifs and wines. Then relish the opportunity of watching the Portuguese demonstrate their folk dancing before listening to the unequalled 'Fado' singing.

    • + SEAFOOD DINNER BY THE TAGUS RIVER Take a ferry across the mighty Tagus River and enjoy typical Portuguese seafood and fish specialities at a local restaurant. After dinner cross the impressive Suspension Bridge for a sweeping view over the Portuguese capital.

    • + SINTRA CASCAIS AND THE ESTORIL COAST We leave Lisbon for the slopes of the Sierra de Sintra, an area studded with palaces. After visiting an impressive palace, we see the fashionable resort of Estoril before returning to Lisbon by way of the quaint fishing village of Cascais.

    • + GOURMET DINNER AND EVENING ORIENTATION Your chance to enjoy the exclusive district of Estrela, its park, basilica and the Portuguese Parliament, on the way to a delicious gourmet dinner, followed by an evening drive along the banks of the mighty River Tagus.

  • ALGARVE

    • + FARO AND ALMANSIL EXCURSION With our local guide, we leave our hotel for Faro, the historical capital of the Algarve, to visit the old walled town and to have some time for souvenir shopping. Then, on to Almansil, for one of the Algarve's best kept secrets - the Chapel of St. Lawrence.

  • SEVILLE

    • + FLAMENCO EVENING No visit to Andalucia would be complete without feeling the passion, rhythm and magic of a flamenco show. Let us take you to the best in town, and offer you 90 minutes of pure entertainment. Drink included.

    • + THE GOTHIC CATHEDRAL AND MOORISH ALCAZAR We begin with a visit to the massive gothic Cathedral with its Moorish 'Giralda' tower and the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Then, a must for any visitor to Seville, our guide will show us the Alcazar which was the original stronghold of the city, with its beautiful gardens.

  • GRANADA

    • + GYPSY NIGHT OUT This evening we are taken to the old quarter of Granada, which affords the finest views over the illuminated Alhambra Palace. Here we will enjoy the passionate 'Zambra' dances by Sacromonte's famous gypsies - a fiery emotive performance unique to the gypsies who live in these caves around. One drink is included.
