Conrad, our Senior Sales Manager has been with Trafalgar for a massive 12 years and is responsible for key accounts.

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

Trafalgar delivers the best experiences to guests, they always return from their holiday raving about their time overseas and almost always say “I had no idea it was going to be this good!” That is the reason I love this brand, I love changing people’s perceptions of our brand and helping to deliver the best holiday experience.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

I was recently in Vietnam on a Trafalgar guided holiday and the whole experience blew my mind. I just had to try one of our trips that had a 100% guest satisfaction rating and this trip did not disappoint. I too rated it a 100%! The standout experience on this holiday for me was late night fishing for squid off the back of the Junk boat on Halong Bay as well as learning to prepare fantastic local delicacies with some truly passionate locals in an exclusive cooking school.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

As this phenomena doesn’t happen often you can most often find me catching up with some friends in a local café or pub or planning my next holiday and adventure. I have recently this year also taken up going to the gym and have been trying to perfect rock wall climbing. (I said trying!)

4. What is your best tip to increase sales?

Change is hard, many struggle with it, however the industry changes on a daily basis and brands like Trafalgar have undergone a complete transformation. Coach touring is a thing of a the past with us and Guided holidays are the way forward. Guided holidays are what the public are looking for today, they are filled with unique experiences and continue to amaze people. Coach touring doesn’t have the same appeal with todays consumers. Stop selling coach touring and embrace this new way to travel. Contact your Sales Manager and allow us to help you grow your business by bringing guided holidays into the mix. I have seen numerous agencies do just that and triple their yearly sales!

4. You are the sales manager for N.S.W so what is your favourite Hidden Treasure?

There is a small park or reserve in Vaucluse in Sydney. From this vantage point you can see the whole city, the views take my breath away as its postcard perfect! You can often find me here with some friends picking at a antipasto board and fixing the problems of the world.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

This is going to sound weird, but I have often thought about how cool it would be to have dinner with your whole family tree. One person from every generation going back as far as possible. Knowing my family this would be a chaotic dinner party but would be incredible to truly see where you come from.

Because I know and believe we care about our guests and give them the best holiday.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love long walks in nature.

4. What is your best tip to increase sales?

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

We have such a great team at Trafalgar not only in Australia but globally, so it makes it easy going to work every day. Plus, we are simply the best way to travel and I love the experiences we offer our guests whilst they are on holiday with us.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

I have been fortunate enough to experience so many fantastic and varied travel experiences in my life, but one I will never forget is trekking to find (and spend time with) the mountain gorillas in Uganda.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I love scuba diving in the summer, weekends away and catching up with friends.

4. You are the sales manager for N.S.W so what is your favourite Hidden Treasure?

There are so many great little cafe's tucked off the main street of small towns and lookout points on my travels to my regional areas. I recently discovered an amazing lookout point down the south coast by accident as I took a wrong turn in my car and there were 180 degree views of the ocean. Simply breathtaking.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

Showing my lovely agents and guests the amazing reviews on our website. As well as talking about my own Trafalgar experiences and bringing them to life.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

Definitely Vin Diesel as he is my ultimate man!

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

I love working for a brand that has such a great reputation and provides the best holidays for our guests. The most rewarding part of my job is when past guests come up to you at expos and film nights and say that they had the Simply the best time on their Trafalgar holiday and that we are the best.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

Well I have had so many great travel experiences, but my favourite city to travel to is Barcelona and have been lucky enough to visit a few times. I feel that Barcelona has everything to offer.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

4. As you are the sales manager for Trafalgar what is your favourite hidden treasure?

One experience on my Trafalgar trip was when we were in Waterford Ireland and we went to this cute little pub in this tiny little village on the beach. We were met by the Friendliest locals and had an Irish folk band play for us. It was such a great night and certainly wouldn’t have known about it if I was travelling by myself.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

Everyone should add on a Costsaver tour as it’s the second trip you didn’t think you could have.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

Richard Branson – I think he has so many great stories.

Learn about Regan, our Sales Manager who covers both South Australia and the Northern Territory.

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

It’s a great product that really offers the Australian traveller exceptional value for money, which is really great in such hard economic times. It’s a tremendous feeling to work with a product that offers exceptional value for money and that truly does deliver exceptional experiences to our guests, it really helps to have a profound believe in the product and the company. On a daily basis, I really enjoy working so close with agents and the variety that exists within each store and business.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

It’s too hard to be able to say which will be the best experience but high on my bucket list would have to be driving an Aston Martin DB9 around a racetrack at over 200kmh. Being a major James Bond fan and a huge car enthusiast this really ticked a lot of the boxes for me.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I am a family man with two kids so spending time with my kids and wife is the most enjoyable past time. I also try and keep fit as much as possible and spend a bit of time cycling within Adelaide and the Adelaide hills. Cycling is challenging and I enjoy the work needed to perfect the craft and become a strong rider as hill climbing, is not easy. I am also a big Liverpool FC fan and spend many of my weekends, late at night watching the English Premier League Soccer.

4. As you are the sales manager for SA/NT what is your favourite Hidden Treasure?

That’s a hard one as South Australia  has so many hidden secrets and treasures. For me, finding the many laneway breakfast bars and cafes that are now popping up is a real culinary delight. Adelaide prides itself on the high level of food quality and we the people are a real foodie nation, so a good breakfast cafe and some great coffee is the real treasure.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

As an agent you need to have a massive knowledge base due to the volume of suppliers, I feel that a great tip to increase your sales is knowing where to get the content. By utilising our website and our sections that outline the experiences that your guests will be provided with is a real plus, that can increase and lead to a higher rate of conversion, resulting in increased sales.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

Ooh, tough question. I am not really sure how to answer this one. Possibly an older American President like Nixon or Kennedy, I would love to find out the answers in relation to the Watergate Scandal or the Kennedy assassination. Possibly someone with a greater appreciation for the older distinguished gentlemen like George Clooney. I feel that the gentlemen as a concept is dying off, no longer are men as thoughtful and insightful as they once were. The distinguished language and code of ethics that previously existed seems to be a dying art form which I feel Clooney himself admires.

Meet Lorraine, one of our fantastic Sales Managers covering the Queensland territory.

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

I have wanted to work for Trafalgar for a very long time. It is always seen as one of the leading travel companies which means there is potential for working with some great people. So far this has been my experience and I love being part of a great team of people who want to help each other.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

Gosh there are so many as we are very privileged in our industry but I suppose my most special experience was being upgraded to First Class on a trip to the UK when I had to rush there as my Dad was hospitalised suddenly. I was blown away with the experience.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I am a beach goer and love the laid back lifestyle Queensland offers. I read novels, I go to movies, I socialise with friends…….living the dream. I love experiencing new places and we love to go exploring.

4. You are the sales manager for Queensland so what is your favourite Hidden Treasure?

A hidden treasure for me is a beautiful little café called Tea and Niceties on Mount Tamborine who serve a very special High Tea. The best ever. Well worth the trip.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

I believe if you point out Trafalgar’s points of difference to consultants then they have the information needed to sell our holidays over others.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

Dinner with Richard Gere would be my choice. Not only is he great to look at but he is a Buddhist and I find them fascinating to listen to. It would be great to have a conversation with him one on one.

Meet the amazing Carla, one of our New South Wales Managers.

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

I love working for a company that invests some much time, effort and quality into their product, every day I wake up happy to go to work because I know I can be proud of what I’m selling, I am confident that we are simply the best in the market and I know that we are continually trying to evolve our product for our ever evolving clients and our trade partners. And on top of that I love working for Trafalgar because I’m part of a company that looks after me and supports me in my role.

2. What has been your best travel experience?

My best travel experience was going to Egypt, I decided on a Wednesday that I would like to go and on the Sunday I flew out, I loved the shock factor of not know what to expect.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I really enjoy meeting up with friends, keeping fit and salsa dancing.

4. You are the sales manager for N.S.W so what is your favourite Hidden Treasure?

I recently found the most amazing little spot, I was driving to Rose Bay to see an agency on New South Road, as I was looking for parking I turned into a small street on the left called Caledonian Road and parked up. As I go out of the car I noticed this little walkway at the end of the street so I thought I’d go check it out and out of nowhere I was standing on this most amazing secluded beach with a perfect view of the city and Harbour Bridge. Definitely a great little hotspot for New Year’s Eve fireworks.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

Ask everyone for the booking!

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

Princess Diana. I’d love to hear her story, what really happened and how she managed to be so giving when so much was taken away from her.

Meet Donna, our wonderful Sales Manager who looks after Western Australia.

1. Why do you love working for Trafalgar?

I feel privileged working for a family owned and run company that has been in operation for 70 years that offers Simply the Best in Guided Holidays.I love the fact that we have a massive repeat business of 86% and a customer satisfaction rating of 97%, with these statistics and our guest reviews I can stand by what we promise unfaltering

2. What has been your best travel experience?

My best travel experience with Trafalgar was this year on my Treasures of France trip where I got to experience the wonderful VIP entry to the Eiffel Tower - I felt like a rock star walking straight past the snaking line for tickets straight to the north tower elevator straight to the second floor where I had uninterrupted views and the whole floor to Trafalgar guests for 25 minutes.

3. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I am not working I love going to the beach, movies, out to dinner or planning my next Trafalgar holiday.

4. You are the sales manager for Western Australia so what is your favourite Hidden Treasure in that state?

My favourite hidden treasure is going to Port Beach, a gorgeous white beach with blue blue waters with less crowds and a restaurant on site.

5. What is your best tip to increase sales?

My best tip to increase sales is to look at the great value our Trafalgar Guided Holidays offer, when you think it includes 4-5 star accommodation, all your breakfasts, transport in a luxury coach, vip entry/priority access, fantastic and exclusive insider experiences and a completely hassle free experience – you Simply wont get a better holiday on your own.

6. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with anyone dead or alive it would be Phil the host of the Amazing Race! Why? Because I love travelling and talking about travelling, in fact anything to do with travelling. I would love to know how he got his job, who chooses which countries they go to, how does it all come together, what is involved in the planning of the itineraries and different challenges the contestants face.
