Halong Bay

Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi, was the seat of the Viet Minh government when the country was liberated by Ho Chi Minh from the Japanese in 1945. Today, you can visit the stilt house occupied by "Uncle Ho" and admire the huge marble mausoleum in which he is entombed. Head west to Halong Bay and you’ll board a traditional Vietnamese junk boat before sailing amongst the small islands dotted about the bay. You’ll enjoy a delicious seafood meal before stopping at a grotto to admire glittering stalactites and stalagmites. The boat will provide your bed for the night, before you start the following day with a traditional Tai Chi class on deck.

Central Coast

On the Perfume River lies Hue, a city still recovering from the war, but one that has retained enough of its ancient charm. You can visit the seven-story Thien Mu Pagoda and admire the gated wall that guarded this historic capital, as well as the emperors and concubines within. You will journey on the remarkable Hai Van Pass, bisecting the Truong Song mountain range, which projects into the sea. In breathtaking Danang, the Museum of Cham Sculpture will show you the secrets of a civilization that dates back to the 2nd century.

Travel south and explore Hoi An as you enjoy a serene city brimming with sublime architecture. In the charming village of Tra Que, experience life in the country whilst helping the farmers work on the land before enjoying a lunch of incredible regional delicacies.

Ho Chi Minh City

A full-throttle metropolis, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is bustling with life and energy. On your walking tour we'll guide you around landmarks including the opera house, the former Hotel de Ville, and striking Notre Dame Cathedral with its two spiked silver towers, each more than 130 feet tall. You’ll also visit the War Remnants Museum for a vivid glimpse of the war through the eyes of the locals.
