The medieval roots of Zagreb are still apparent but it has now grown into a vibrant capital city. Your Local Specialist will show you the landmarks and sights including St Mark's Church and its colourfully tiled roof and Gothic portal. You’ll also visit the imperious Cathedral of the Assumption, a Gothic structure with twin spires that are visible from most parts of the city. In your free time, you’ll be able to explore the meandering streets of the old town, full of cafés, restaurants and gardens.
Plitvice and Hvar are perfect examples of Croatia's breathtaking landscapes and natural beauty. Your Local Specialist will guide you around the National Park in Plitvice, a forested UNESCO World Heritage Site with crystal-clear lakes and waterfalls. You’ll also see Hvar, a pretty island with gorgeous shores surrounded by the beautiful blue Adriatic. There you’ll be able to wander the stone streets, unfettered by traffic, and admire the graceful Gothic palaces, all of which are encircled by 13th century walls.
Dubrovnik has survived devastating earthquakes, Napoleonic conquest and rocket attacks. But it still stands strong. To enjoy this medieval town, walk within the Gothic cloisters and stop to admire 15th century paintings, including Božidarević's masterpiece Our Lady with the Saints. Our guests always love the old town's market, where you will find local produce ranging from fruit and vegetables to olive oil and local spirits.
