    MUNICH ORIENTATION AND AT LEISURE

    Munich is a lively, prosperous medieval city – a perfect blend of traditional and modern. See the sights during your morning orientation including the Hofbräuhaus, Marienplatz, Ludwigstrasse and the majestic Opera House. Spend free time afterwards exploring on your own. Visit galleries and museums, shop for souvenirs or consider an optional experience to the infamous Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. This evening you might like to join your companions for a night out at a local beer hall.

    MUNICH – OBERAMMERGAU – NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE – INNSBRUCK (2 NIGHTS)

    In Oberammergau, see the theatre where the Passion Play has been performed every decade since 1634 when Europe was gripped by the plague. Drive into the scenic Bavarian mountains and arrive by horse and carriage at Neuschwanstein Castle. Experience a guided tour of this fortress, built in the 19th century for King Ludwig on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau. Arrive later at the famous town of Innsbruck where you will enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Tonight you might like to see a traditional Tyrolean folklore show.

    Continue through the picturesque valley of the River Inn and pass the Wilder Kaiser Mountain. Visit the National Park of Berchtesgaden, featuring awe-inspiring mountains. Continue on to Salzburg.

    SALZBURG – VIENNA (3 NIGHTS)

    View the Church in Mondsee where the marriage of Captain Von Trapp and Maria was filmed for ‘The Sound of Music'. Traverse the Salzkammergut, a picturesque region of mountains and lakes, whose salt deposits brought great wealth to the area. See Melk Abbey in the Wachau Valley before arriving in Vienna.

    VIENNA SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME

    This morning enjoy an exclusive Cultural Insight with a guided visit to the Habsburg royal collection of art at the Kunsthistorisches museum prior to admission of the general public. The spectacular Kunstkammer will be revealed in this private insider visit. Later, your Local Specialist reveals the city's major landmarks and palaces during your included sightseeing tour. The Imperial Boulevards lead to views of the Opera House, the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament and St. Stephen's Cathedral. The magic continues with a walking tour through the oldest parts of the city near ‘Am Hof'. Why not indulge yourself and try some local cuisine such as schnitzel or strudel.  Walk along the Kärntnerstrasse in the centre of the city and shop for souvenirs.

    Adult Price: €61.00 Down in the heart of Munich's old town we'll visit the world-famous Hofbrauhaus, where you’ll hear a traditional 'Oompah' band. Then on to a typical Bavarian restaurant to savour local dishes and drinks.
  • The Dachau Memorial Site

    Adult Price: €30.00 Germany’s first concentration camp was opened immediately after Hitler’s rise to power, just outside Dachau, near Munich. Maintained as a memorial, this visit will provide an insight into this tragic period in history.

Innsbruck
