The itinerary is jam-packed and quite strenuous. Lots of uphill walking and stairs. Some of the night tours (especially those on the bus) should be eliminated. You can’t see & you can’t take photos at night thru the bus windows. Perhaps consider having dining experiences, or inside tours in the evenings. The majority of the hotels were much nicer than anticipated. Only one was subpar.
Tour Director, Sandra & Driver, Domenico, were excellent. Hotel staff in Paris were deplorable, although the hotel was very nice. Many of the Local Specialists spent too much time talking in one spot, as if they were trying to fill time. This tour was during the Christmas & New Year season. It was explained to us how difficult it was to secure rooms & services during this time, so we would need to be flexible. The optional for Versailles wasn’t even available “due to the holidays.” This was very disappointing, as touring Versailles was one of the deciding factors for this trip. It should not have been advertised as an optional experience if Trafalgar could not deliver at this time.
I don’t think I could have done and seen everything we did by ourselves. Well worth what we paid. Most hotels were good quality hotels with the exception of Assisi. That particular stop I would have skipped. It was interesting but not worth an overnight stay, especially in that particular hotel. I would have liked more time at the murano glass factory. Moulin Rouge was definitely worth the price.
Travel Information received in a timely manner. The tour guide, ************ was absolutely amazing. He was organized and knowledgeable about the places we visited. He made the bus trips fun with games and movies. He worked hard behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly. He gave us special treats from the places we visited. The restaurants that were chosen for us were fantastic. The Be My Guest opportunities were fun and interesting. We were on the long Europe trip and the only thing I would change is the stop in Assisi. I would rather have made it a stop and not an overnight stop. I would have loved another day in Amsterdam or Paris. I have already recommended Trafalgar to a few friends and coworkers and I would definitely use Trafalgar again. It would be hard to top Graham as a tour guide though! I was glad to get home and look back over the memories and pictures. It was our honeymoon and it was a memorable one!
Our tour director ************ was fantastic! He kept our trip going on a smooth pace, very knowledgeable, kept us laughing and having a great time! Our group was so special, with many wonderful people from many countries! The places we went were great especially Engelberg,Switzerland and Sorrento, Poisitano, and the beautiful island of Capri! Loved this trip so much!
The entire experience was well organized and set up for a whirlwind tour of Central Europe. The tour guide ************ was intelligent and informative and funny. The busload of folks you travel with become friends for life. The traditional tour put us in classic hotels often with amazing views. Food experience was fantastic and well thought out. Local specialists were some times hard to understand but I felt well informed and safe wandering around the different cities and towns on the trip.
