Day 2
See the Sights of Hong Kong
This morning, we ascend to the top of Victoria Peak, taking the funicular railway which has ferried visitors up to the 373-metre summit since 1888. Admire the iconic views over Victoria Harbour and the lush hills that loom beyond glittering skycrapers. Our City Tour continues to Aberdeen Fishing Village where we’ll Dive Into Culture and embark on a sampan ride for insights into the lives of the fishermen who live and work on their boats. Next, we’ll indulge in a steaming Dim Sum lunch on board the famous Jumbo Floating Restaurant, favoured by international celebrities and dignitaries. Then it’s time for some bargain hunting Hong Kong-style as we venture to Stanley Market, one of Hong Kong’s oldest settlements. Strolling along its promenade and past stalls laden with memorabilia, clothes and other trinkets, it will be hard to imagine its colourful past as a pirate and smugglers’ haunt. We’ll return to our hotel later, enjoying an evening at leisure to immerse ourselves in the vibrant nightlife of Hong Kong.
Start the evening with a relaxing pre-dinner cruise around Victoria Harbour, one of the world’s most impressive natural harbours. Take in the stunning buildings and landmarks that adorn both sides of the busy harbour as you glide past the Western district, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and the neon-lit entertainment district of Wan Chai. Enjoy unlimited free drinks (including alcoholic beverages) from the complimentary open bar on board and afterwards drive up Victoria Peak where dinner is served at ‘Bubba Gump’ – the highest restaurant in town offering a sweeping night view of the city and harbour. Later return to Kowloon for a visit to Temple Street Market; famous for its’ inexpensive bargains, fortune tellers and Chinese street opera performances. NB. The price shown is in Hong Kong dollars.

Optional Experience
Walking Tour of 'Old Town Central'
Beneath the stunning skyline of Central, history, culture, arts and food flourish in one of the city’s oldest and most archetypal neighbourhoods. On this walking tour visit Upper Lascar Row; known to antique enthusiasts worldwide as Hong Kong's famous Cat Street Market. With over a century’s history of selling interesting decorative items and authentic historical pieces you may even discover interesting or rare items at the back of overcrowded shops! Visit the well-preserved historic Man Mo Temple which houses a bronze bell dating back to 1847 and a sedan chair from 1862 followed by the PMQ, formerly the Police Married Quarters which now houses works by promising young local artists and designers. Take a stroll along Hollywood Road; a historic neighbourhood with its old colonial building such as the former Central Police Station; a declared and restored monument built in 1864. For an authentic taste of Hong Kong try the local milk tea influenced by British culture. The Hong Kong version comes with evaporated milk and sugar. Then enjoy a silky and irresistibly aromatic egg tart - a favourite of Hong Kong’s last colonial governor Chris Patten. The price shown is in Hong Kong Dollars.
Adult Price: $670.00*

Day 3
Explore Historical Macau
The dazzling playground of Macau takes centre stage today as we board a high-speed ferry bound for its glitz and glamour. On arrival, we’ll meet our Local Specialist who will accompany us throughout the day and reveal how 400 years of Portuguese colonial rule have made their mark on the culture and cuisine of this Chinese territory. We’ll drive along the Guia Circuit (Grand Prix Race Track) and see the golden statue of Kun Iam, the Goddess of Mercy before stopping at the 15th century Taoist A-Ma Temple dedicated to the Chinese Sea Goddess. Legend has it that Portuguese sailors named the enclave A-Ma-Gao to thank her for saving their ship in a storm. We continue to Macau Tower, ascending to its Observation Deck for panoramic views of the Macau cityscape, China, the Pearl River and even some islands of Hong Kong on a clear day. After lunch, we’ll visit the intricately carved stone façade that is all that remains of St. Paul's. Then, we’ll walk through the historic Senado Square towards Monte Fort, the former residence of governors and bastion against attempted invasions. Our final stop today will be to hedge your bets at one of Macau's top casinos before returning to Hong Kong by ferry.
Our brief encounter with Hong Kong's imposing skyline and the glamour of Macau at its end, we'll take a transfer to Hong Kong International Airport for your onward flight.

Tour guides were not as attentive as our China guide
Our tour Director Li was amazing and made our entire vacation a wonderful experience. His attention to detail and concern for his guests was outstanding. He went above and beyond to make this a wonderful vacation.
The itinerary was great and the optional experience added excellent value. The day in Macau was memorable - also thanks to the excellent local specialist.
The travel director, as well as the local specialist in Xi’An provided excellent service and made the tour a memorable trip. Their quiet, efficient organisation of day-to-day activities in a gentle, caring manner was great and always well appreciated. A special mention of our Classic China travel director, Kevin: he went the extra mile and provided a wealth of information. The hotel accommodation varied from comfortable to excellent and all the hotels had five star locations. All the meals provided by both tours were of the highest quality. The transport (couch, internal flights and car) was extremely well organised and the drivers were all first-rate.

The itineraries of both tours were outstanding and the optional experiences added excellent value. The pace was fast enough to fit in all the daily activities, but never rushed.
Trafalgar Classic China and Hong Kong-Macau 2019 Feedback The Classic China and Hong Kong-Macau tours were our first organised tours and they exceeded our expectations in all respects. From the moment we arrived in China, we were in awe with the rich Chinese cultural history, as well as the impressive modern developments in China. The itineraries of both tours were outstanding and the optional experiences added excellent value. The pace was fast enough to fit in all the daily activities, but never rushed. The tour group for Classic China consisted of 20 group members. We were fortunate that it was a diverse, but very respectful group and punctual as we never had to wait for any group members after free time. For the Hong Kong Kong-Macau extension, we were only 3 members and again we had a great time. The hotel accommodation varied from comfortable to excellent and all the hotels had five star locations. All the meals provided by both tours were of the highest quality. The transport (couch, internal flights and car) was extremely well organised and the drivers were all first-rate. The travel directors. Kevin for Classic China and Anna for Hong Kong-Macau, as well as the local specialists, Tiger in Xi’An and Tino in Macau, made the tours a memorable trip. Their quiet, efficient organisation of day-to-day activities in a gentle, caring manner was great and always well appreciated. A special mention of our Classic China travel director, Kevin: he went the extra mile with all sorts of additional little surprises, provided a wealth of information and entertained us excellently for 10 days. Thank you Kevin – you are the best! It was a memorable trip with many highlights – these were a few top ones on our list: •Beijing: Forbidden City •Beijing: Great Wall – Juyongguan – the Great Wall was indeed great – a very humbling experience •Beijing: Temple of Heaven – Tai’Chi demonstration and lesson by Kevin •Beijing: Meeting Mr. Liu Yunjiang, the champion cricket trainer during our Beijing Be My Guest Hutong Lunch and thanks to Kevin for translating Mr. Liu’s very entertaining anecdotes •Beijing: Foot massage •Beijing: Optional Summer Palace and Giant Panda in Beijing Zoo •Xi’An: Optional Tang Dynasty Show with dinner, including surprise birthday cakes for two of our group members and a backstage visit after the show •Xi’An: A variety of night-time musical performances in the beautifully lit street behind the hotel – we spent almost 4 hours there! •Xi’An: Calligraphy lesson at Art Museum •Xi’An: Village school – we enjoyed the visit and interaction with the children very much •Xi’An: Terracotta Warriors and museum was impressive – excellent local specialist, Tiger provided a wealth of information •Shanghai: Buying an Erhu (Chinese violin) in Shanghai Old Market with an impromptu very accomplished Erhu player demonstrating to me on how to play and his wife, beautifully dressed in a red traditional Chinese dress, softly sang with him •Shanghai: Optional ancient water town, Zhuijiajiao, visit •Hong Kong: Dim Sum lunch on second floor of Jumbo Floating Restaurant – the three of us had the whole floor to ourselves for a private lunch •Hong Kong: Optional City and Harbour Night Cruise with the dinner in ‘Bubba Gump’ restaurant at Victoria Peak •Macau: Very enjoyable day and we also visited the Macau museum (not on the itinerary) – excellent local specialist. Tino made the day very special Thank you Trafalgar – we can recommend both these tours as a must for any traveller’s bucket list!
