Arrive Athens (3 Nights) Day 1 - Arrive Athens (3 Nights)Delve into a land of gods and goddesses, legends and great philosophers. On arriving in Athens, you will be transferred to your hotel before spending the rest of the day to explore the Greek capital at your own pace. See the remains of the cradle of Western Civilisation, stroll through the charming lanes of Plaka in search of the best souvlaki or people watch in Syntagma Square over a strong cup of Greek coffee.

This is an evening excursion to a taverna in the centre of Athens. Athens Sightseeing Day 2 - Athens SightseeingStep back in time as you explore the wonders of ancient Athens with a Local Specialist on a guided sightseeing tour of the Acropolis. View bygone treasures such as the Parthenon that today stand as a testament to Greece's great past. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the city on your own terms or consider joining one of our Optional Experiences.

Cape Sounion
Take a relaxing trip down to the southernmost tip of Mainland Greece to see the fifth century B.C Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. See if you can spot where Byron carved his initials on one of the temple’s sixteen columns. Marvel at the sheer rugged beauty of the coastline and the ancient temple perched above a 197-foot drop down to the Aegean Sea below. Stand above the site of the world’s first lighthouse, overlooking an area steeped in classical Greek history, ever since the tragic King Aegeas threw himself from the rocky precipice into the sea below, thereby giving his name to the Aegean Sea.

Delphi
The slopes of Parnassus Mountain are home to Delphi, home to the Oracke and the centre of the universe for the ancient world. Visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Stadium & the Temple, as well as the museum of Delphi - home to over 10,000 artefacts, including the famous bronze Charioteer. In addition, you will also pass through the typical mountain Greek village of Arachova - famous for its cheese, matured in nearby caves, and for its flokati rugs.

Athens Day 3 - AthensEnjoy a free day to explore the vibrant city streets and ancient sites. Ramble through the ruins of the Agora and imagine a thriving marketplace once the haunt of Socrates who questioned ancient Athenians' understanding of the meaning of life. Relax at a café in Kolonaki or consider joining an Optional Experience to Delphi.

Argolis (Mycenae/Epidaurus/Corinth Canal)
Leaving Athens, first cross the Corinth Canal, separating the Peloponnese from Mainland Greece with impressive dimensions - Visit ancient Mycenae, 3500 years old and home to the Lion Gate, Royal Palace & Tomb of Agamemnon, before continuing on to the stunning precision built ancient theatre of Epidaurus, There will also be a stop at the picturesque town of Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece.

Embark – Mykonos Day 4 - Embark – MykonosWe depart Athens and cruise to the pretty island of Mykonos where we will have an evening to meander through its beguiling cobblestone lanes lined with white-washed houses and tumbling bougainvillea. Soak up the slow island pace and get lost in a maze of old-world charm.

Myconian Countryside tour with Hora & Little Venice
We'll set off from Mykonos' largest town Chora with our local expert and stop at the beach of Ornos, a picturesque fishing harbour, then on to the small beaches of Agia Anna and Kalafatis. Afterwards we'll visit the traditional village of Ano Mera and the monastery of Panagia Tourliani, founded in 1542. The pretty village square is a perfect spot for a short break. Returning to Chora we'll stop at Paraportiani, a famous whitewashed church complex. A few metres down we'll visit the Mykonos Folklore Museum, which is housed in an old two-storied merchant baron’s house. We'll continue towards the “Little Venice” of Mykonos, Alefkandra, with its windmills and the almost otherworldly sunsets where our trip culminates.

Kusadasi (Turkey) or Samos (Greece) – Patmos Day 5 - Kusadasi (Turkey) or Samos (Greece) – PatmosVisit Kusadasi to join a Complimentary Shore Experience to ancient Ephesus or visit the Greek island of Samos renowned for its viticulture. We continue our cruise to Patmos. Consider an Optional Experience to the Monastery of St. John.

Patmos Countryside Tour with Hora And Grotto Of Apocalypse
We visit Patmos a UNESCO “World Heritage Monument” and enjoy a panoramic guided tour of the island, a magical visit to the Grotto of the Apocalypse, where it is said St John the Apostle wrote the Book of Revelation. We reach the medieval town of Hora to enjoy a leisurely walk, marvel at the views of the Monastery of St John the Evangelist, and culminate our tour at Scala the port of Patmos where we enjoy a welcoming coffee, tea or refreshment.

Heraklion – Santorini Day 6 - Heraklion – SantoriniWe arrive in Crete this morning and enjoy a shore experience to the Palace of Knossos in Heraklion where we will see what remains of the once powerful Minoan civilisation. Later, on the island of Santorini we enjoy a Complimentary Shore Experience to the sun-kissed clifftop village of Oia. Enjoy incredible views of its Caldera before settling in to watch the magnificent Aegean sunset for which this volcanic island is so famous.

Minoan Palace of Knossos - 1st European Civilization
The ancient city of Knossos the residence of the wise King Minos and the Minotaur, with constant habitation from the Neolithic era until the 5th century A.D., is beyond doubt the land that “gave birth” to the first civilization of Europe, the Minoans. The palace of Knossos spreads around a large Central Court. You will reach the awe inspiring Throne Room, the fresco of the “Prince of the Lilies”, the imposing Grand Staircase, the Queen’s Megaron. Walking through the apartments of Knossos Palace and observing the finds even as passers-by, and the information from your local specialist, will make you feel part of this cultural heritage.

Disembark – Athens Day 7 - Disembark – AthensWe return to the hum and buzz of Athens and transfer to our hotel.
