ONE TREE PLANTED

SAVING THE PLANET ONE TREE AT A TIME

Keen to transform your holiday into a meaningful travel experience? At Trafalgar, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact and giving back to the local communities that need an extra helping hand.

In conjunction with our partner OneTreePlanted, we promise to plant one tree for every guest who uses our travel e-Documents. Not only does this service allow you to access your important travel information at the click of a button, but you’ll be helping us to reforest 500 acres of barren and devastated land across Tanzania and Northern California – two locations that are close to our heart.

Forget getting down and dirty. By continuing to use e-Documents, you’ll have the opportunity to change the planet for the good – without lifting a finger. Why trees, you ask? Read on to discover why we’re so passionate about this worthy cause.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

The sunny state of California might be on top of most traveller’s bucket lists, but sadly, severe wildfires and recent droughts have threatened native species and destroyed over a million acres of forest in the area. With our own Trafalgar USA team based in California, we want to make a difference – but we need your help. Together, with OneTreePlanted, we can start to restore the damage so guests like yourself can continue to enjoy the spectacular natural scenery of Northern California.

TANZANIA

As a part of The Travel Corporation family of brands – owned by the Tollman family who originate from South Africa – Trafalgar is passionate about the reforestation of their homeland. Drought and deforestation have become such an alarming problem throughout Tanzania, locals and native animals struggle to survive in what is rapidly becoming a dangerously unliveable ecosystem. Join us as we aim to repair the damage caused and breathe life back into a destination that is a part of our own family’s heritage.

Why Planting Trees Helps Our Planet

It might not be easy being green, but it is important to the survival of our planet.
Before you jet off on your next global adventure, discover why planting trees will benefit every traveller.

OTP Carbon Footprint

Combats our carbon footprint

Trees reverse the damage we do with carbon emissions and reduce the effects of climate change. Through their leaves and bark, trees absorb harmful pollutants and carbon dioxide, and produce oxygen into the atmosphere.

OTP Protects biodiversity 709139369

Protects biodiversity

Deforestation of trees is hugely detrimental for biodiversity. Hundreds of species of insects, fungi, mammals and plants make trees their homes. Different animals require different habitats to live in, so by planting more trees, we are taking steps to safeguard our planet’s species.

OTP Social Support 641843462

Supports Social Impact

Whilst the forestry industry provides a multitude of job opportunities, humans also rely on sustainable tree farming to provide wood and materials for shelter, cooking and heating.

CELINE COUSTEAU TALKS REFORESTATION

Watch environmentalist, filmmaker and our ambassador for the TreadRight Foundation, Celine Cousteau talk about the importance of reforestation and the importance of Trafalgar’s e-Documentation program.
