      Optional Experiences

      Mesta Anavatos

We visit the village of Mesta, a delightful well preserved medieval village with its houses built tightly side by, and narrow streets, built in such a way as to confuse and prevent pirate raiding parties from reaching the most important buildings in the centre of the town. Continuing on we visit the village of Anavatos, built on a rocky elevation, a natural defense making it difficult for the pirates to conquer!!! The village is now uninhabited however is still quite well-preserved to give a unique picture of a ghost town surrounded by a wild and rough natural environment.
