World-famous landmarks like St Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge’s Palace are at the top of many visitors’ itineraries. With a name that’s associated with glass artisanship across the globe, Murano offers the opportunity for visitors to discover the fascinating process behind this art. This collection of islands linked by bridges is located to the north of Venice, and it’s here that artisans host glass-blowing demonstrations. Venetian Traditions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As a centuries-old tradition, Venetian masks are deeply engrained in local culture. And while they’re most commonly seen during Venice Carnival, they’ve been worn throughout history for a number of occasions. Visitors can gain insight into the history of the Venetian mask, before painting and decorating their own mask in a hands-on workshop.<\/p>\n

The Original Bellini<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Situated on the waterfront of San Marco, Harry’s Bar is one of Europe’s legendary drinking spots. Opened in 1931 by Giuseppe Cipriani, the bar has been visited by Royalty and literary figures such as Hemingway, and is credited for creating the popular Bellini cocktail. Cipriani is said to have taken inspiration for its name from the pink colour of the toga in a painting by 15th<\/sup> century Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini.<\/p>\n
