In fact, the 452 volcanoes here cause approximately <a href=\"https:\/\/education.nationalgeographic.org\/resource\/plate-tectonics-ring-fire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">90% of the world\u2019s earthquakes<\/a>. Several tectonic plates here (including Pacific, Nazca, Juan de Fuca, Cocos, Indian-Australian, Philippine and North American Plates) could collide and sink beneath one another, causing seismic tectonic activity.
