There’s nothing quite enjoying an ocean view when on vacation. There\u2019s something instantly relaxing about looking out at a landscape of blue hues, where the infinite waters fade into the horizon and sky. Last month, we asked our Trafalgar Facebook followers<\/a> to share their favorite sea views from their past tours in honor of World Oceans Day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dozens of past guests replied with gorgeous photos of expansive blue oceans, dreamy blue vistas, and calm turquoise seas that they\u2019ve snapped while on the road with us. Their photos took us on a journey from the dramatic Cliffs of Moher and the incredible Norwegian fjords to the calm Mediterranean Sea.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat made the trip to Ireland special is that it was everything (and more) than I had expected. The country is beautiful, the people are extremely friendly and the Trafalgar staff were fantastic. Did you know: our planet is dominated by the ocean<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s true, the surface of planet Earth is 70% ocean, and these oceans contain 97% of the planet\u2019s water. So, if you see stunning waterfall in the middle of a jungle, remember that it’s a rare sight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Floating through Norwegian fjords<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mita D. joined a tour of Scandinavia with us and shared a fantastic picture of a Norwegian fjord. She captioned it: \u201cThe enchanting and dramatic turn at Norway<\/a> to sheer bliss!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe allure of the dramatic and majestic Geirangerfjord in Norway is a moment to be transfixed. This door to sheer bliss is opened by none other than Trafalgar, who helped to create a treasure trove of memories. Did you know: the world’s deepest point is in the Pacific Ocean<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Have you heard of the Mariana Trench? It\u2019s located in the western Pacific Ocean and is considered the ‘deepest’ part of the world. The Mariana Trench stretches about 36,000 feet (10,972 meters) below sea level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s something about Greece<\/a> that makes us think of the color blue and dreamy Medierranean days. Our past guest Renee D shared this special sunset from Santorini, while Rosie P.T. shared a day time sea view from Mykonos, both looking out over the Aegean Sea.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The beauty of Greece has always touched me,” says Rosie. “Being an artist, its breathtaking landscapes and ancient wonders call out to be painted. We tried for 2 years to get there but then Covid hit. Finally the third time was the charm and when I saw the blue and white domes of Santorini, the hustle and bustle of Athens and the beautiful beaches of Mykonos, tears came to my eyes and Trafalgar made it happen. I will never forget it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know: the ocean produces more than 50% of the world’s oxygen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The ocean is more than just a pretty sea view. Through the photosynthesis of marine plants including phytoplankton, kelp, and algal plankton, over half of the world’s oxygen comes from ocean flora. So next time there\u2019s seaweed on the beach, ruining your perfect holiday snap \u2013 perhaps you can instead say thank you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea views on the Colors of Sicily trip<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cassandra E-R shared this dreamy photo of the ocean that she recently took in Cefal\u00f9 while on Trafalgar\u2019s Colors of Sicily<\/a> trip. Cassandra says her favorite moment from the trip to Italy\u2019s<\/a> southern island region was the Be My Guest on the final day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was blown away by the beauty I was experiencing. Cefal\u00f9 was truly picturesque and I throughly enjoyed my time at the beach. I never miss an opportunity to jump in pristine water,” says Cassandra.<\/p>\n\n\nTour not found.\n\n\n

Did you know: most volcanoes erupt under the sea<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a whole world beneath the ocean\u2019s surface: more than 80% of the world\u2019s volcanos actually erupt underwater!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Adriatic Sea delivers island views in Hvar<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s always special to climb around the walls of an ancient fortress in Europe. But on the Croatian<\/a> Island of Hvar, the best part of traversing its historic defences is the views of the glittering Adriatic. Past guest Lawrence T. snapped this fantastic photo looking back down over the historic town of Hvar and out to the small group of the Pakleni Islands.<\/p>\n\n\nTour not found.\n\n\n

Did you know: the internet is underwater<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s easy to forget that the internet isn\u2019t just WiFi waves, but actual physical cables. It\u2019s estimated that around 95% of international data is transmitted via underwater cables that cross the ocean floors. Maybe that\u2019s why the internet seems slower in Australia!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
